To wonder how you lose a tampon

Whenever people post about an issue with their womanly-bits, someone always asks if it's possible they've forgotten a tampon up there, but how on earth is that even possible?

Aibu to wonder how the hell that even happens Confused

You really sang guess? I’m not providing your fodder.

onepieceoflollipop · 26/11/2022 17:22

I guess the last one of a period and occasionally the string gets tucked inside and is not visible.
not happened to me but some people are disorganised/busy/forgetful

Eh? It's a perfectly valid question there's nowhere for it to go !!

Clearly there is or they wouldn't get lost

MetellaInHortoEst · 26/11/2022 17:24

What kind of gynaecological descriptions, sketches or photos are you looking for exactly?

Might be one for Google?

SheWoreYellow · 26/11/2022 17:25

You can sometimes get a bit of a pocket up next to the cervix. And once you’ve had a vagina birth or two, things can be a bit more along the nooks and crannies side of things.

RositaCaquita · 26/11/2022 17:25

Use your imagination.

But obviously it's a one way system so it'll be forgotten not lost

Helpmephrasethis · 26/11/2022 17:27

It helped to me at 17. I serious stank - it was vile and didn’t know what it was. It went on for weeks. Then my brother said I’m sorry but I can’t sit next to you, you smell of rotting flesh. I went upstairs and poked my fingers in my vagina but nothing - but they smelt disgusting when they came out. So I grabbed a pair of tweezers and very painfully (I was a virgin) poked my fingers as high as they would go and then pushed the tweezers up - I caught something and tugged and the most disgusting tampon came out- I felt sheer relief. But I hadn’t felt it and no bleeding. I was far too embarrassed to tell my mum or GP or anyone and thought I might die from toxic shock syndrome for the next few months. That’s why.

I used to think the same, how the hell could anyone forget they had a tampon in?! I'd put a tampon in and forgot about it, so when that tampon reached it's capacity I put another one in before bed! When I removed it in the morning, the first tampon came out along side it! I must say it smelt really awful 🤢 haven't made that mistake again. I have a friend who had a tampon in there for 3 weeks!!! She thought she had an STI due to the smell, went to the drs and they found it. She is also not usually the forgetful, disorganised type. It happens more often than you'd think!

Helpmephrasethis · 26/11/2022 17:27

I meant it happened to me at 17.

I’ll bite. When my period came back postpartum, DD was still waking hourly overnight. She was also a colicky devil who crawled early. I was bone tired. Many a time I would do things like keep putting contact lenses in my eyes – my record was 3 pairs – or putting tampons in without removing the earlier one. My record there was also 3. Then you forget you’ve done it and only expect to remove one, and so it goes. It’s not really very exciting.

LavenderAndBluebells · 26/11/2022 17:29

I used to think the same until it happened to me that should say

CourtneeLuv · 26/11/2022 17:31

Yeah but its only like 4 inches or something in there though.

After vaginal births, can it really get that big that you can forget about a tampon though?

Okay. Enough. Reported.

CourtneeLuv · 26/11/2022 17:32

I can feel the smallest tampon, however well I put it in. I know its there. And mooncup.

Congratulations on your superior brain and vagina, OP! What are you looking here, “like a wizard’s sleeve” fapping material?

Listen love if you can fit a penis in there without needing to have given birth you can easily fit 2 tampons in. Do you know anything about female anatomy?

Oh dear, you’re not meant to be able to feel them.

If you can feel it you're doing it wrong.

That’s happened to me a couple of times too!!

CourtneeLuv · 26/11/2022 17:40

I know you aren't supposed to feel them, which is why I don't use them anymore. But still, if I did, I couldn't forget its there.
