Bosch vs Shark cordless vacuum?

We've had Dyson cordless for years but it's always been very temperamental - we haven't been able to use the turbo function for years as it just cuts out when that button is pressed. I think we probably didn't clean the filter enough in the early days.

I'm keen to replace it over Black Fri weekend and like the look of the Shark ones, but can't find a lower-priced model that comes with a wall unit/charging station to mount on the wall, which is one of the best things about the Dyson.

The Unlimited Serie 6 BCS612GB ProHome 18 V Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, 2 Batteries 60 minutes runtime - White amzn.eu/d/iBVEy7O Bosch model I'm looking at has this but the reviews aren't quite as consistently good as for the Shark models.

My friend has a Gtech that she rates but the reductions on these don't seem as good.

What would you recommend, MN?

I’ve got the Shark anti hair wrap cordless and it is brilliant.

Lentil63 · 26/11/2022 10:40

I have a Bosch, it has two chargers. I’m really happy with it but we only have hard floors.

The link doesn't work for me but I got a shark last weekend the cordless pet flexology one in the BLACK FRIDSY SALE. It was £189.

It replaced my Dyson v7. I really like it. We also have corded ancient Miele cat and dog but this will be the Main hoover.

It folds over to store and charge and doesn't really need a wall unit so for me it better then the Dyson.

Does a great job and carpets look great

All new vacuum cleaners do a great job at the start, need to keep up the maintenance and cleaning. If you can get a twin battery model go for that as the run time stated is on level one with no floor head so you will never achieve the max time. Got the the Vax one power and is really good, did look at the Shark in-store but put off by the rep who couldn't answer any of my questions and just slagged off the other vacuum cleaners. Would love the Miele but far too much £££

Ooh thank you all!

@nutellacrumpets we also have a corded Miele (entry-level) which is great but just doesn't get used that much because of hauling it up and down stairs (lazy innit 😳).

@EggsHamChips do you know if it's the £179 (reduced from £319 - IZ103UKGB) one, or a higher spec one?

@Lentil63 that's a good point - we have half and half hard floors and carpets (not in the same room 😁).

@goinback you're right - wish I'd cleaned the bloody filter more from the get-go! Did you buy the Vax pet hair model?

@Laquila I think this is ours. It’s the one with the pet hair kit. We used to have a Dyson and it was a pile of shite.

I use it over our corded Miele now.

nutellacrumpets · 26/11/2022 15:09

@EggsHamChips that is the
One I also have.

Delivery guy said he had delivered 12 that day!

nutellacrumpets · 26/11/2022 15:09

@Laquila exactly the same reason out stays in the cupboard!

goinback · 26/11/2022 15:50

@Laquila yes, got the pet model, small brush head good for the stairs and in the car.
