Most people I know are better at one or the other.
My in-laws are dreadful, awkward hosts. It is very uncomfortable staying with them. But they are excellent guests - polite, fit in, easy going.
My parents are the opposite. Generous, relaxed hosts but on edge as guests (I suppose because they prefer hosting).
I think I'm better at hosting. It's hard to judge yourself.
