Best menstrual cup for heavy flow

Got the copper coil fitted because I can't face another 20 years of hormonal birth control, and I'm really happy with it except my periods are now SO heavy. I usually use a mooncup, but at the moment I'm filling it in half an hour. I'm using period pants as well but I'll need at least 7 pairs per period and they're so expensive.

Super heavy tampons get me an hour or two, but honestly I really don't want to go back to using them full time. I've looked online for XL cups and there are several, but I don't know which one to pick!

Anyone tried the Merula?

Have your periods always been heavy or is it only since the coil?

If you've been on for months with no improvement id suggest getting it removed and discuss different options with your dr.

You might find you develop anaemia if you bleed at this rate so a low dose iron supplement could be useful if you can cope with the side effects.

Good luck :)

They were always pretty heavy (super heavy tampons in 4hrs sort of heavy) but worse since the coil. I'm on iron supplements and am generally happy with my contraception choices, just need help with the period!
