Does anyone know what this 90s toy was?

I can't find anything on Google, it's as if it didn't exist.

It was cardboard boards, quite big, probably bigger than A3 size. They had pictures on of different things that you could build and plastic clips to put them together.

You could build a Wendy House, a kitchen, a boat, a car. Big enough to sit in and play in. The plastic clips had hinges so that you could open the door on whatever you'd built.

No idea what they were called, does anyone know?

This is ringing some faint bells...... i think i had one with a washing machine front on one bit? God im trawling the dark recesses of my brain but will see what i can find (or ask my mum lol)

It's making me think of mecano (sp?) but I know it's not that

Christmasmarket · 25/11/2022 21:09

Yes I'm sure one had a washing machine front on.

Goodness knows where my parents got them from because I've never seen anything like it since.

Definitely not Meccano. These were big cardboard pieces.

I'm not sure how big they were but big enough that if you clipped several of them together you could make a boat big enough for a child to sit in.

@Christmasmarket is this the stuff??

Does anyone know what this 90s toy was?

I remember some white plastic connectors that savaged young fingers 🤣

Wow thank you for this trip down memory lane!! (No idea if its what you were looking for, but its made my evening!)

Christmasmarket · 25/11/2022 21:27

@Happycow YES pretty sure that's it or certainly very similar. That website has the cooker top and a computer too. I do seem to remember the plastic clips catching my fingers and they shredded the cardboard pieces eventually. Thanks I was beginning to think I'd imagined them.

I guess this toy never caught on 🤣

@Christmasmarket yes i remember the hob thong and the washing machine and the evil clips 😂 but i dont remember it being in the house for very long 🤔

Not much comes up on google apart from this, even now i know what its called so it must have all got destroyed pretty quickly!

Was it quadro?

Does anyone know what this 90s toy was?
Handsnotwands · 25/11/2022 22:11

Oh actually quadro isn’t at all like your description. Sorry Blush

Can't remember what it was called but we loved it as kids. We always made cars which had a washing machine inside for some reason

Flydrive · 23/10/2024 04:07

I think this toy was called “multirig” and we had one and loved it. Google doesn’t show anything for that however.

Hi. I'm only 2 years late to this thread (!) but I've been searching for ages for the name of a 'toy' that sounds extremely similar - large panels of plain coloured cardboard (square I think) with white clips to link them together to make boat, house etc as you described. Did you ever find out what it was? I think my Dad bought it abroad but it was in the late 1970s/early 80s. No-one else I knew had it

They were called play panels!!! We had them, there was a tank, a plane, washing machine, oven top and a car…with white plastic connectors. We LOVED them! All our games included them, I’ve been looking for a thread about these for years 😂
