My Dyson V11 absolute keeps cutting out

This is after I gave it a really good clean, taking it apart as much as I could. Has anyone had the same issue? it's just out of guarantee typically.

New battery for £60 from Dyson website. I went through Customer care sent pics etc but could just have googled it and bought the battery without doing that. Works perfectly again.

New battery or something stuck in it somewhere.

NorfolkinExile · 24/11/2022 19:31

Mine kept cutting out too. Tried lots of trouble shooting which didn’t work. I ended up getting a new battery from Amazon for £40 - as good as new now!

Ours did that and my DH washed the filter and it worked again. Think you are meant to buy a new filter but it worked.

amylou8 · 24/11/2022 19:38

They do this when the nozzle gets blocked. If there's nothing stuck in the nozzel (check right under the brush bar) or the wand it's probably the battery.

AllTheWatersTurnedToClouds · 24/11/2022 19:40

The 'trigger' went on ours, kept cutting out. DH bought a new one (Amazon i think) and replaced it.

Aquivers · 24/11/2022 20:02

I don't feel it is the battery because it just cuts off for several seconds and then bursts in to action again at full suction.

Is that what happened with any of you who had a battery issue?

I wondered about that as I had been washing mine and never replaced it. Bought some from Amazon to test that.

When I had a battery issue it just stopped working. It did the cutting out thing when the filter was dirty

Mine was the filter when that happened. I put it in the dishwasher and it was right as rain.

HamHand · 24/11/2022 20:07

Wash the filter, or hold it over a bin and tap it as hard as you can. Mine did this the other day and the filter was filthy. A few quick whacks and it’s fine

beeswa · 24/11/2022 20:11

When mine cuts out like that it means that there's a blockage . I tend clean the bit at the bottom (forgot the name but where the roller is ) that keeps clogged pretty quickly and then the filter, then the actual collection bit .

AllTheWatersTurnedToClouds · 24/11/2022 21:21

We had to hold onto the trigger hard to make it run, instead of the initial gentle hold that worked when it was newer

its just a bit of plastic - quite a common weak spot apparently

RosieRainbow1986 · 24/11/2022 21:39

When this happens to ours it's been because the filter needed a clean. The battery needed replacing on ours when I could only get about 5 mins hoo ering done, if that! New battery has been brill...as good as new!

Toddlerteaplease · 24/11/2022 22:24

Have you got long haired pets. My Persians ruined my old dyson 'pet' as the long hair got wrapped round the narrow brush bar.

Yes, the little fabric thingy

user19653876 · 26/11/2022 07:38

My old Dyson did this and I thought it was the battery, it wasn't, we put in a new filter and took the whole thing apart and cleaned it and it was ok, I doubt its the battery.

DohaDragon · 26/11/2022 07:44

My v8 did this and it was always hair wrapped round the brush head. Had to fully take the brushhead apart to get all the hair out. Cutting out what you can see wasn’t enough
