Anyone for a brew?

It’s pouring with rain here and I’m putting the kettle on. How do you take your tea?

I like mine strong, so Yorkshire Gold or Barry’s if you’ve got it, brewed strong with a lot of milk. I have to be very specific because when you ask for ‘milky’ tea folk think you mean ‘weak’, and this is disastrous.

Properly weak for me please! Not milky weak. What’s the biscuit offerings?

Ravageur · 24/11/2022 14:10

I like clipper. When asked I say lots of tea and lots of milk 😂

Ravageur · 24/11/2022 14:10

Oh and whole milk as well

Oh yes, whole milk always.

I’ve got some Rich Tea biscuits if you’re feeling virtuous.

I like strong with a lot of milk too, but prefer regular Yorkshire to gold. Unusually we've run out so I'm having my posh Assam (from Atkinsons in lancaster, better known for coffee but does good tea too). It's very good.

Hillrunning · 24/11/2022 14:23

Strong but milky is a request that few people seem to understand so I'm pleased to hear that's how you like it.

I use two Yorkshire tea bags and lots of milk. I had a horrible experience this morning where I didn't realise the milk was off until I drank my tea so yes please, I'll have one with you.

crosshatching · 24/11/2022 14:23

Yes please I'm flagging, white, no sugar ideally like my tea the colour of David Dickinson's tan please.

Santagiveyoursackawash · 24/11/2022 14:26

Aldi tea bags and Aldi oat milk. Perfect..

Threadkillacilla · 24/11/2022 14:26

I go bag in if it's not Yorkshire but I'm a scruff.
Have coffee when I'm being refined (in public)

GodisaBC · 24/11/2022 14:27

Urgh you’re all wrong.
Very strong, don’t squeeze the tea bag and a teaspoon of milk. I like to taste the tea.

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 24/11/2022 14:28

I'm having coffee with cream at the moment, but my current tea of choice is ginger tea from Aldi, it's really warming. I take it strong, medium milky, no sugar.

Clipper Organic Tea, my Moist/Hoist TKMaxx mug (which is like a bucket), Semi skimmed milk but not overly milky. If we're pushing the boat out I'll have a dark chocolate hob nob of 4 as well

ErrolTheDragon · 24/11/2022 14:43

I prefer skimmed milk in tea, but coffee (from the aforementioned Atkinsons, freshly ground and made in an Aeropress) must have whole milk.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 24/11/2022 14:45

I'm a loose leaf tea in a (warmed) teapot 🫖 sort of person - blended so Yorkshire tea (normal one) and earl grey mixed in my tea caddy. So it needs to brew properly then don't forget the tea strainer! Normal milk and a good deep biscuit colour in a tea cup if you have one.

I bought some batternburg cake today that I can bring?

Cuckoomonster · 24/11/2022 14:47

Earl grey with milk and a chocolate digestive

Oh yes. I have a Cornishware 15oz (420ml) bucket which no-one else is allowed to use!

Twinnings English breakfast. I can’t get here easily so just imported in 7000 tea bags! Should last a while

9port · 24/11/2022 14:52

Another Yorkshire tea over here! DP likes the pg strong ones but they are way too strong for me. Medium to dark is my liking with a splash of semi skimmed. Always in bucket sized, so a sports direct mug is ideal, although it's probably better to go decaf at this time of day Grin

OldTinHat · 24/11/2022 15:03

A green tea for me, please. Will bring some scones!

If I have to have tea, tea, then black and strong enough to stand your spoon in would be great.

DuchessDandelion · 24/11/2022 15:06

Oh yes please. Strong, little milk only. Made in a pot 😉

ilovepixie · 24/11/2022 16:09

Strong with a splash of milk, no sugar and a chocolate hob nob please.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 24/11/2022 16:13

Massive mug of Sainsbury's gold label with a dash of oat milk in it. Nice and strong. I am partial to Yorkshire Tea as well. Coffee I get from Atkinson's in Lancaster 😁That has no milk in it but one sugar.

Dustyblue · 24/11/2022 16:18

Twinings English Breakfast for me, nice and strong!

Don't mind Twinings Earl Grey... but I put a dash of milk in it. I know you're not supposed to, but I like it.

TeeBee · 24/11/2022 16:23

Oooh yes please!! Utterly shitty weather on the south coast and awaiting news of my poor dad in hospital having spinal surgery.
Yorkshire Gold, leave the tea bag in. Don't care about milk content, please yourself. Half a teaspoon of sugar (preferably unrefined). All served in my lovely mug made by my equally lovely partner.
