Suggestions for exciting audiobooks

DH suffers from insomnia and like to listen to audiobooks to help him drop off.

I often end up listening too (though I tend to fall asleep quite quickly and miss stuff).

I’d love some suggestions about stuff we might both enjoy. DH likes history and biography, but agreed to listen to some Jane Austen recently and quite enjoyed it.

I have enjoyed The Riddle of The Sands, The 39 Steps, various John Le Carre stories, and Into Thin Air, about an accident on Everest.

Any good recommendations?

Have you tried the Rivers of London series? I was surprised by how much I liked them. The narrator (Kobna Holbrook -Smith) is just brilliant.

Seconded (also love his voice). Along with the Rivers of London. JK's detective series is really good too.

Definitely Rivers of London. I like the Falco books too.

The BBC adaptations of I, Claudius and Samuel Pepys’ Diary are excellent!
