Do you regularly check for skin cancer?

New moles etc.

I've read that the most common place to get melanoma (the most serious kind), is on the back. Now it's just occurred to me, I can't remember the last time I looked at my back Confused I can't see it, so how do people spot these moles?

For women the most common place is the legs anyway, but the back is most common for men and very common in women too

So how do people spot it? I'm surprised there's not more info or public service announcements on getting your back checked?

Mine was on my back. I got it checked because it was suddenly very itchy and kept bleeding, I used a mirror to see what it was. Got it removed and all okay but it has made me more aware.

Sorry to hear this, glad you're okay!

I did wonder how people would notice but good to know there were symptoms that made you look if that makes sense

I think a lot of women avoid mirrors, particularly when unclothed.
I wish we could schedule a regular screening check up.

No, because I don't spend my life worrying about things that might never happen.

Do you not do Breast checks?

NavyKitchen · 24/11/2022 14:59

I do but only because I had basal cell carcinoma on my nose a few years ago. I get dh to check my back every so often.
