Global shortages of acuevue lenses

I have managed to tear my last contact lense this morning (realised it was my last one when I went to the box and it was empty). I've gone to order some more and apparently there is an up to three week wait for accue vue lenses due to 'global shortages'. Are they made in Russia or something?!
Naturally I broke my bloody glasses last week so I'm now sitting trying to work with one eye (Optician doesn't have any spare either!) I've ordered some one day ones- a different brand-but they won't come for two days.

So this is just a warning if there are any lenses wearers as disorganised as me!

Ohhhh … I think my usual prescription was Acuview - can’t be sure but yes, was told a few months ago that there were no more. Even though they assured me the replacement lenses were essentially the same, they’ve taken a while to get used to.

I did not know this! I've had the same prescription for ages so just bulk buy them online. I'll have to see if I can still get mine!
