Is tesco club card any good?

I've never really shopped in tesco, but a massive one has just opened near me, and wondering whether tesco club cards are any good? I have a 4yo and am very cash strapped so if it allowed me to do some extra fun stuff with him at a discount I'll start shopping at tesco instead!

Yes
Save your points all year and they triple with rewards oj the app.
I used mine for a day out to an attraction that's doing xmas stuff.

It cost me nothing. Would have been £45 a ticket x 6.

I used to shop aldi as well as tesco but now just tesco and i found it as cheap

We also have the clubcard plus. 7.99 a month and on top of the clubcard discount in store you get 10% off on 2 'big shops' a month.

Well worth it

To be honest, had not spend many points during lockdown but this year, got a return trip on the eurotunnel plus an entire set of denby crockery on clubcard points. Still some over.

The deals are great, we got tickets to the Shard and a river boat trip down the Thames for 4 with them this summer. Had theme park and zoo tickets before. I’ve still got about £65 left this year which I’ll spend on Christmas cheese, biscuits and chocs. So nice to get something back which you don’t get anywhere else.

Discounts are also good if they come up on stuff you like.

I’ve been through periods of trying all the supermarkets but have always gone back to Tesco. I don’t find Aldi and Lidl that much cheaper anymore and there’s always something that I need to go to Tesco for so no point going to them as well. Also love using the self scanner and putting stuff straight in bags. Haven’t used a manned checkout for years. I don’t get why so many people still don’t use them, you’ve got to unload the trolley then load it all again, just why? Asda do self scan but don’t rate the meat or veg quality from there and TBF my local one is like a rodeo.

You have to shop there a great deal to get money vouchers back. Even with the 3x the amount scheme where you can get tickets to theme parks etc, I'm sure you would have spent 5x that just to get the ticket!
but you would have been buying the shopping anyway , you aren’t buying extra to get extra points , you are shopping in the same way as you would in Aldi / Sainsbury or wherever .

Yes, I would be buying the shopping anyway, but the overall cost of the shop would be cheaper at the other supermarkets! The savings from that alone would pay for entrance tickets etc.

Sorry to rejig an old thread, but I have over 500 points on club card and would like to convert that to £5 but can't see how to do it?

I was looking at the Lidl thread on AIBU and was hoping there was a Tesco one!

Thanks...I wonder why I can't do it...

It's going to be a broke week :)

We have one but find Asda rewards is a much better rewards scheme. I did our weekly shop this week and received £5.80 worth of points on a £90 shop, you can convert them straight to a voucher to use. You don’t seem to get nearly as many points at Tesco!

Perfect28 · 01/04/2023 11:19

Clubcard is good but Tesco is crap, very little range, often out of stock of basics.

Merrymouse · 01/04/2023 11:19

You can’t really shop in Tesco without one. Pretty much all the special offers need a Clubcard. You also get vouchers for various things like pizza and days out.

704703hey · 01/04/2023 11:37

Yay, I've managed to convert the vouchers!

I miscalculated bills this week so have little to spend on food, luckily I have a fair amount in so need to use Tesco and co-op cards on things like vegetables, milk and bread.

Roll on next weekend payday!

GettinHyggeWithIt · 01/04/2023 14:12

Tesco isn’t my preferred shop but I wouldn’t shop in there without it. £5 for toothpaste without a club card, £2.50 with. Madness!
