I’m going round and round the internet and am now completely done for.

we can’t afford the likes of Ikos, Sani etc (£10k ++)

four of us, dc will be 9 and 8

looking at 10days if possible in July

key criteria...

europe/short haul
beautiful area
lovely town within short walk from the hotel with good food options/things to see
Swimming pool for kids
not definite on kids clubs but fine if they have one
opportunities for a few “activities” like snorkelling, kayaking etc

i literally can’t find what we’re after but hoping someone has the magic answer?! Or at least some recommendations. Thanks!

What is the budget

Have a look at the Matina Hotel in Pefkos, Rhodes. We went a few years ago, really lovely and friendly. Think it will tick all your boxes.
You can book direct. Good luck!

Carvoeiro in the Algarve?

I’m biased as I live here. Happy to answer any questions

How about Domme in the south of France?

greeandorange · 23/11/2022 21:55

Croatia?

veeringsouth · 23/11/2022 22:05

Alcudia

Another shout for Rhodes- stayed in ixia, can walk to restaurants, short bus into Rhodes town, interesting ruins if you rent a car for the day (might be public transport too, didn't look). Pretty reasonable when i went but was term time.

Another thought is the Italian lakes, or the resorts north of Venice - both are drivable with 1-2 nights stopover if flights are prohibitively expensive

Fandangles · 23/11/2022 22:14

Thank you! I’ll have a look at those suggestions. @chickidychick Budget wise maybe £5-7k Max inc flights.
@greeandorange croatia looks beautiful but I don’t know where exactly to look that meets the tick list. If you have any recommendations (hotels etc) that would be fab!

If you are near a clear sea, you don’t need a pool. Where are you flying from and what is your budget?

Club Letoonia in Fethiye, Turkey.

Stunning grounds, on its own peninsula into Fethiye bay, beautiful mountains around. Lots of watersports. It has a free water taxi into Fethiye itself, which is lovely with bazaars and restaurants. Olu Deniz isn’t far and it has the famous blue lagoon.

Croatia hotels and camping.

Family Amarin would be good.

Some of these hotels are sold as a packages through Tui or Jet2 but you could also source your own flights to Pula.

minipie · 23/11/2022 22:32

Sounds like you want a hotel rather than self catering?

Would recommend Bella Mare in Corfu - our then 9 and 7 yr old had a great time there last year, as did we. Let me know if you want more info. May be booked out already though…

Fandangles · 24/11/2022 08:23

@minipie now that looks exactly the thing! Thank you for that, will investigate
