Jury duty and claiming for childcare costs

Hello. I've been called up to do jury duty next year. I've got two children, one in school and one in nursery for 3 days a week (I work part time).

I hope that my husband will be able to deal with school drop off/pick up, but I'll have to put my youngest into nursery for some extra days and hopefully claim back some money to cover the fees.

My question is, jury duty seems to be open ended? I've been told that it should take 2 weeks, but possibly will be longer (or shorter?)

If I book the child care for two weeks, I'll have to pay for it whether I use it or not (understandably, as nursery will have to allocate staff, save a place etc). Will I be able to claim for the two weeks, even if I only need one?

I'd be really grateful if anyone could let me know their experiences of claiming for childcare when doing jury duty. Thank you!

There is a form they give you when you attend that you fill out with what you need to claim, the amounts are capped, from memory you will need to provide proof of childcare costs and can only claim what you actually used but it probably won’t cover the full amount.
