Hi all,

My husband runs three MOT garages and so I literally never see him!!! He travels between all 3 all week and the admin is taking over his life.

I am capable of helping from home but need some advice...

All 3 garages are run as separate businesses and have different business names, phone numbers etc. If I were to answer the phones, would I need 3 separate mobile phones with the garage landline numbers diverted to each mobile? Is there a more organised/simple way of me answering ONE mobile phone? But then if all 3 numbers were diverted to one mobile, then how will I know which business the customer is trying to call?

I hope I am making sense?!

Thanks in advance.

I'm a business consultant.
Get one central number and change all businesses to that.

If it were me though I would get a central website, divert a phone message to that website saying to book there.
Then I'd get a landing page with pricing and a simple booking page. Drop down with the three locations so you pick which location you want. Times and dates available are shown via a piece of software so they can only book available times. If you have a set price for service then payment of this can be before or after MOT.
You can also get a billing software like Sage/ Wave to send a text with a payment link.

Its not difficult to do and there are lots of web companies out there that will do this. Basically all boookings go to a central report you see - that can be printed out and thats the workload for the garage for that day.

There are companies offering VoIP numbers that will all divert to your mobile - and you can monitor online where they've rung, I'm expecting when their call showing their phone number comes in to you, it'll be prefaced with a unique number that you can identify where they have rung. DH's landline rings on his mobile and the number of the customer calling shows with 11 in front.
I suggest ring a few companies and ask what/how they can help.
