We bought that with high hopes and my croissant loving, jam loving, cereal loving child hates it. So now we have a 98% full box of cereal no one will eat.

My advice with sickly cereal is to eat it dry in front of the TV. Have a drink with you of course, but don't put that stuff into milk....

Best example: Start. Amazing sugary delight. Awful as cereal, lush as a snack food!

Aw OP, your Dad sounds just like mine, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the roads and motorways (of which motorways and major A roads has rubbed off on me 🤣). He comes here for tea and then I go round and all kinds of stuff I buy that he's never contemplated are in the fridge and cupboards!

I also have 3 packs of butter because "it's expensive"
He gave me an explanation for everything in the shop

Yep, is he actually my Dad? I get mine chicken from the butchers near me as "no water comes out of it" They do a bulk deal at £13 and every time he gives me £20 and won't take any change. I'm 45 and in a decent job, so I've started buying him £5 worth of the sausages he likes too and telling him he can pop them in the freezer for when he feels like an easy tea 🤣
