Neck pain - where to go next?

I have had crippling neck pain for a couple of months. It's getting worse by the week. Currently seeing a physio but I'm not sure she's doing much good to be honest. I'm keeping up with all of the exercises she's given me and they are not helping.

Physio says I have a bulging disc at the top of my spine; this is causing the neck pain which in turn is then travelling down into my right shoulder. This is on top of fibromyalgia that tends to be worse in my shoulders.

Where would people suggest I go next? GP? Chiropractor? Osteopath? (if I'm being honest, I don't know the difference between a Chiro and an osteopath!)

Feeling a bit woe is me. Currently chucking codeine / paracetamol down my neck and feeling no improvement.

I'm with you, I have neck issues caused by too much screen time & poor posture. Physio's the way to go & changing posture habits.

If you are experiencing nerve pain, I would try gabapentin. I had a problem with a nerve causing terrible pain. The gabapentin really helped.

I also tried physio and osteopathy. Nothing really helped except painkillers, gabapentin and rest.

Osteopath. Not a chiropractor under any circumstances!

Thanks for the replies all. That's interesting, why would a chiropractor not be the way to go?
