Where are you doing your Christmas shopping if not online?

There's so many stores here closed now. But i hate online unless its something i cant get elsewhere. I was in marks and john lewis at the weekend, both very busy. I guess lots of people still prefer an actual shop, i know i do.
Where are you doing the Christmas shopping this year with so many retailers disappearing?

I tried to go shopping on Saturday and the shops were packed, reminds me why I shop online now. Also not much in our local high street now either other than a Poundland and a tescos, other shops are £5 clothes shops or chicken shops, have to travel too far for everywhere decent.

95% online

5% very local to me. It's hard though. Not much choice.

Waitrose. Only cos I work there and can pick up what I need when I finish at 7:30am before the madness descends

Well the food bits anyway....the physical present stuff.....high street but ours is still ok

i have been to... Home Bargains, The Works, M&S, Primark, Smyths and charity shops all in all.

emmathedilemma · 22/11/2022 16:42

Well I don't know what I'm buying anyone yet so that will determine where I buy it! I work in the city centre so can always pick up things at lunchtime or on the way home from work.

We have been visiting charity shops for presents for family and each other, we did this last year and it worked well. Also vouchers for local independent restaurants.

I planned to go to London for shopping on 16th December. Annual leave request was approved this morning. Train strikes have just been announced for 16th December. I'll be shopping online.

It depends what kind of gifts you're looking for.

Country-style garden centres have loads of lovely gifts but some can be a bit pricey.

Surprisingly my local chemist has some good bargains in perfume

Done some Xmas shopping online but will be having a look round TKMaxx and Afflecks Palace in Manchester at some point. Will also have a look in any charity shops I pass by.
