Long weekend away - do you fully unpack?

No judgement here just curious.

Recently come back from a long weekend with my DH's family. Took the majority of food with us as the place we were staying was pricey.

As soon as I got there I unpack literally everything, food, toiletries, clothes and then suitcase/bags all put away.

DH's family barely unpacked, clothes still in suitcase/bags, chilled stuff obviously put in the fridge etc.

But just curious

Are you an unpacker

or

Are you a I'm only here for 3 nights, who has the time for that shit when we'll be packing again before you know it.

We moved house in February and my clothes are still living in/out of the suitcase in my bedroom. 😂No, I don't unpack when away, though I do usually unpack and organise kitchen things/food, but that's about it.

I'm an unpacker, doesn't take long, I know where everything is and stuff doesn't get as creased

BlueChampagne · 22/11/2022 12:27

I'll live out of a suitcase for up to a week!

LeafHunter · 22/11/2022 12:28

I don’t tend to unpack. DH does.

It depends partly on how much space there is for the bags to be there still packed.

Murasakispillowbook · 22/11/2022 12:30

I hang up dresses etc but the rest stays in the case

ChiefPearlClutcher · 22/11/2022 12:30

👋 Live out of the suitcase over here!

but then I pack with that it mind.

kitchen stuff/food obv unpack.

CMOTDibbler · 22/11/2022 12:33

I'll go away for a week and not unpack. Hanging up stuff gets hung up, my toiletry bag hangs up too, but everything else stays in its packing cube in my suitcase

youcantry · 22/11/2022 12:37

Same as @Murasakispillowbook - only dresses get hung rest stays in the case. DP doesn't bother at all, only gets his wash bag out!

reluctantbrit · 22/11/2022 13:03

It depends. I unpack if the suitcase takes too much space away and after nearly falling over one in the middle of the night I am very cautious.

Anything which can crease is put on hangers though.

But 3 nights is the minimum I am prepared to live unpacked.

No499 · 22/11/2022 13:10

For 3 nights I wouldn't bother unpacking, for a week or longer, yes.
