I don’t know if anyone is up.

i was let go from my contract job today after being there almost 7 months. The previous contract ended similarly.

Its mostly to do with big organisations but I am also suffering really badly with menopause which I’ve tried to solve by taking herbal supplements which help somewhat. Have resisted taking HRT so far but think I’ll see my GP again as I do have the patches.

Anyway I don’t think I’ll do anything but I just feel so shit, woke up and wanted to share. Probably no one is awake.

Plenty of us awake! So sorry to hear that.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 22/11/2022 04:30

@northernlola thanks for the reply!

Why are you awake if you don’t mind me asking?

I’ve just had a camomile tea and will try to get back to sleep as I have to work this week on a week’s notice.

That's a horrible thing to happen. You must feel rotten.

I remember similar things happening to me and the shock and panic can be overwhelming.

This is the worst part of the night as well...hang in there. You will find the right role for you

I'm here. Perimenopausal and sleep been shit since I had my kids!

I'm sorry about work. I got made redundant/redeployed twice and it does mess with your confidence.

Denny53 · 22/11/2022 04:33

I’m awake too. I’m on high dose steroids after brain surgery for a tumour

rockingbird · 22/11/2022 04:41

Sorry to hear your having such a crap time of it with the menopause, I'm on HRT and it's been a game changer for me. Get back to the doctor and have a chat about starting HRT as it really can help. What symptoms have you been having? I'm awake worried about moving.. I'm Ok but the impact on my two children is a concern. I'm also on a training course all day and could do with much more sleep but that's not happening sadly.

Thank you so much! That’s a lovely thing to say (and the rest).

I do have real life support but I feel there’s only so much I can talk to family and friends about it.

Worst time of the year too as Christmas is almost here and everyone’s getting excited about it.

Thanks. Peri menopause sucks.

I seem to have had an awful time of it the past few years with work, bullying at one job etc… the one good thing to come out of this episode is I’m seeing a friend who’s a careers advisor this week I think to hopefully help me look at other work options. I need to do something!

Thanks - am going back to GP this week re HRT as I think I do need it!

my symptoms are classic menopause but anxiety has ramped up recently. All weight gain, brain fog, intermittent insomnia etc.

sorry to hear you’re worried about moving. Why do you have to move? It always does impact people I find (moving) but it can positive impacts too. The training course all day doesn’t help either. Hope you get more sheep!

So sorry to hear that. Puts my worries into perspective.

Do you think the steroids are helping? Do you know the outcome of the tumour?

big hug to you.

@GonnaGetGoingReturns it will definitely help with the anxiety that was one of my biggest issues apart from night sweats 🥵 I left my controlling stbxh in the summer, he wouldn't leave the family home and the threats got too much so I took the decision to pack up myself and the children for my own sanity. I don't regret it at all, it's been tough but we are currently in a nice temporary flat on the other side of town and doing OK..was announced yesterday I need to move 🥴 the offer is a good one but I'm concerned as it's near Christmas and will be the 3rd move!!

Thanks re the anxiety and HRT.

I’m so sorry to hear about your issues with your stbxh this summer, good on you for getting out and what a nightmare re the sudden move. Is it based on the current economic situation that decision? If irs a good offer to move then even though it’s near December and will be the third move I think if you speak to your children about it, as you will do, try to reassure them Christmas will be great and so will the move and also try if you know to reassure them that there won’t be further moves.

Some people cope better with moves and change than others. I don’t cope with this very well myself but have learned especially with temp contractor roles to cope much better with change, almost too well I think sometimes.

Anyway hope your training course goes well and you got some sleep.

Things will be ok is what I keep telling myself and I’m saying the same to you too!
