Day to myself tomorrow, what shall I do?

I should hopefully have the day to myself tomorrow for the first time since September. I will need to be on "stand-by" after 12pm so I can't really go out anywhere.

What would you do with a childfree day at home?

Tackle the ironing pile
Internet shopping
Make some important phone calls
Wrap Christmas presents
Stock the freezer with batch cooking
Long luxurious bath
Watch a film in bed

Nothing. I'd just read, watch tv, eat whatever whenever. Nap.

ilovemotorways · 21/11/2022 20:24

I'd go out for a run followed by treating myself to a coffee and cake somewhere. Then I'd probably get home, have a shower and a brew, put a load of washing on. I'd go out in the garden for a cheeky cig and then I'd put the telly on and get cosy on the sofa for a bit with my cat! Perfect day for me! If possible I'd get some house work done too 🤣

Isittrueornot · 21/11/2022 20:43

I wouldn’t do any house work at all, surly that’s the point.

it go for to the bakers and buy a nice cake, bring it home and have it with tea whilst I read. Then I’ll have a nap. Then spend the rest of the day in bed watching tv

Namora · 21/11/2022 20:45

Podcast and declutter. I need a day to get rid of loads of shite without the children suddenly forming passionate attachments to scraggy old teddies and tshirts 2 sizes too small.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 21/11/2022 20:50

Light the fire, run the washing machine and dishwasher to pretend I was doing something. Coffee, scone, book, audiobook, nails , telly by the fire.

FairyLightAddict · 21/11/2022 20:51

If I wasn't sorting the house, I'd watch telly, comfort food and a take-away later. Then a nap,

Shouldbesleeping1 · 21/11/2022 20:52

I'd do very little

AltheaVestr1t · 21/11/2022 20:52

Read my book. Nap.

Sounds perfect!

Heating on. Long hot bath. Dry hair. And back into PJ’s.

flowerycurtain · 21/11/2022 21:02

My favourite thing to do on days like that is stick on some podcasts and declutter to my hearts content without my kid's knowledge.

Then at the weekend when the house is sparkly tidy I could relax and watch a film with them

Coolcreature · 21/11/2022 21:47

I've done a fairly decent tidy this weekend and will have more time at the weekend when I only have my eldest.

I think reading, bit of washing, lovely bath and something nice for lunch sounds good. Oh and the big cake, now that's a great idea! Oh I might bake a cake!

Fingers crossed my daughter is able to manage a full day at school, we've been working up to full days and she has 2 full days this week.

Today, I had a lie in, changed the beds, did multiple loads of washing and dried it all (it was pissing with rain all day), put the new electric blanket on the bed, did loads of veg to go with tea, had a lazy afternoon snoozing with a puppy on my knee, had a hot bath and am now slouched on the recliner with all 3 dogs under a heated throw with chocolate.
