What little thing are you grateful for today?

I feel in the mood for some positivity and I'm wondering what little thing has made you feel thankful or boosted your soul or put a smile on your face today/in the last 24hours, let's share the joy.

I'll start the ball rolling...

Last night I was feeling low after some sad family news over the weekend. I was also very cold all evening and didn't want to boost the heating cos you know, the cost of living crisis.

I went to bed about 30mins after my 17yr old son and as I pulled my Pj's out from under the duvet I noticed they were toasty warm. It took a few seconds to compute but my heart smiled as I realised DS had thoughtfully put my electric blanket on for me. It might not seem much, but in that moment it felt like he had put his long lanky arms around me and said "it's alright mum, I've got you". As a single mum and nurse I don't often feel that someone is looking out for my needs rather than vice versa so it felt extra special.
DS can be an arse at times but at others he is an absolute diamond. 🥰

Anyone else feel like sharing?

Ah that's lovely!
I got sincerely thanked by 2 clients (a couple) at work today.
I took a lovely bag of pretty biscuits to work and felt good about myself.
I chuckled at the Simpsons and DH did too.
I've just started a good book.
One of my kids is going to engage in a lovely activity inspired by a day out I took them on.

Cleaner here.. A lovely customer brought me a hand made soap back from her holidays.
She has recently decided to move in with her bf...
She has already told him I will be going with her!!
😀

The right bus was there when I came out of station and I caught it.

Aw it's always nice when we get meaningful thanks, even if it's just for doing our job. You clearly made a difference to that couple.
As for starting a new book, and knowing after only a few pages that you're going to enjoy it is one of life's most simple pleasures imo.

How lovely, and you'll be reminded of that lovely feeling every time you wash your hands with that bar if soap. And you clearly make a positive difference to her when she wants to keep you on. Good cleaners are worth their weight in money.

My son made me a lovely card today in his best handwriting. I love mummy. I could have cried. I was snappy and short this
morning so to come home to that was lovely.

I am over the moon that Saka and Rashford scored today after the abuse they suffered last year.

I’m grateful I bought a jigsaw at the weekend so that I can do it while the rest of the household watch football!
Your ds sounds lovely op

Ah I love moments where life just seems to be lining itself up just right for you. My equivalent would be a journey where I have green lights all the way, such a joy and makes me feel I'm winning at life, which is odd as I have no power over it whatsoever. 🤣

I’m grateful for a wonderful caring GP who gave my 5year son antibiotics for a raging ear infection.

MrsAvocet · 21/11/2022 22:23

I went to the dentist and everything was ok.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 21/11/2022 22:30

I had absolutely nothing planned for this evening, first time in ages, I got very excited to be going home to a glass of wine, bath, bed and this..

Windtunnel · 21/11/2022 22:51

@NatWestPigFamily ah yes antibiotics.- where would we be without them

shadypines · 21/11/2022 22:55

The weather wasn't as awful as I thought it was going to be coming home from work!

SquigglePigs · 21/11/2022 22:56

That's so lovely of your son.

I was traveling yesterday so didn't see 3 yr old DD before she went to bed. When she saw me this morning she threw herself at me for a cuddle and just said "yay! You're here. Love you Mummy".

Also DP doing little things like making sure there's fresh ice cubes in the ice cube tray, making me cups of tea, and having breakfast made for me when I've got back from the nursery run - I've been under the weather recently, not really ill but just off enough everything is hard work and the little things have made life easier.
