Ideas for places to go with Christmassy theme

I'm looking for ideas to take my new boyfriend to something Christmassy. We live in Southampton but can easily travel to London or the midlands.

He's just been to Winter wonderland so that's out. Tried googling but I'm a bit stumped

Any of the light trails - Kew is gorgeous but maybe something more local to you?

Winchester is a lovely day out, great shops, Christmas market, ice skating (? Definitely has been in previous years), visit the Cathedral, etc

Been to Winch a couple of times and it doesn’t really hit the spot for me. It’s a bit pretentious.

Kew sounds good. What happens there? Are dogs allowed?

We just spent the weekend visiting Lacock Abbey and Burton on the water in the Cotswolds/Wiltshire. They were both gorgeous in a more traditional non commercial way.

Only registered disability dogs are allocated Kew.

It's a fantastic light trail, around the gardens (they change it every year) with lots of photo opportunities along the way and hot chocolate stands etc, at the end there is a food village www.kew.org/kew-gardens/whats-on/christmas
