And my other half didn’t realise and used the same one to feed our three day old. I’m exhausted and now terrified. Do I need to call midwife or anything? First time mum, I know this is my fault

I mean this kindly, but get an effing grip.

That was not a kind thing to say, at all.

I can remember crying when using the sterilised tongs to pick up a teat from the steriliser and then placing it on the worktop. It's because you're exhausted and worried about doing anything wrong. It sounds like you're doing brilliantly! You went to a cafe with a 3 day old! That's massive achievement in itself.

You didn’t mean this kindly. If you had meant to be kind, you wouldn’t have said it

It’s nobody’s fault, a simple mistake and your baby will be fine.

if your baby was a second or third born, old siblings would be happily poking germ ridden fingers in their face all the time, and they would be totally fine.

Oh, and going out and about with your new family at such a young age is remarkable - you sounds like a superwoman who is doing an amazing job.
