Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cup of tea, in silence. The fridge is whirring slightly but no other noise. Bliss!

I'm going to put the slow cooker on in a mo, and varnish another part of The Gruffalo peg dolls I've painted for work.

My plan for the day was go to Asda for a few bits after ironing, then crochet, but I've decided I want to deep clean the kitchen instead. When I've drunk my cuppa, I'll get the washer going & then get dressed before ironing & making a start in here. Everything's coming out/being cleaned!

I did tell the girls I might do it & they could help so I imagine they'll avoid me for as long as they can 🤣🙄

I'll probably do the gammon as a roast for tea 😋 and have a glass of wine alongside it.

What about all of you? 🙂

I've just been for a run. Just about to watch my nephews for a few hours, will probably take them to the park. Then later on going to the cinema with DP (no kids here).

AuntieStella · 20/11/2022 08:54

Good morning.

I don't know yet what the day will hold, but right now I'm drinking my morning coffee in bed in peace, whilst titting about online. DH is up and moving around downstairs. Not a peep out of any of the DC yet.

I got a flyer through the door about a pre-Christmas craft fair not too far away, so may pop over to that at some point

Girlintheframe · 20/11/2022 08:55

Just up with coffee in bed.

Will be a dog walk later then a lazy day just pottering about. Perfect 🤩

Justonedayatatime11 · 20/11/2022 08:56

Still in bed with the cats but have to get up to bake a mountain of GF sausage rolls and scones. Deliver some to my dad before picking up DD. Beef in red wine sauce for tea with mash and veg, followed by chocolate brownies with vanilla clotted cream. Have some washing to do and DDs new tv to set up. Wanted to get Christmas presents wrapped today as well but don't think I'll have time!

Fufumcgoo · 20/11/2022 08:56

As little as physically possible

ExhaustedMama68 · 20/11/2022 08:59

A very long overdue date day with DH. My DM has offered childcare for a few hours this afternoon so we are taking advantage and going to our favourite restaurant for Sunday lunch.

ShirleyHolmes · 20/11/2022 09:00

Morning! I am up, although do wish I could still be in bed!

I am about to change into workout gear, then laundry, cleaning bathrooms, litter trays etc. vaccumming if time. Squeeze in a Caroline Girwan weights workout.

Bowling with the kids this afternoon.

Usual Sunday night jobs after - sorting lunches, bags, uniforms, homework etc.

Fortunately, DP sorts the food and I just eat what is put in front of me! 😁

DemsDaRulz · 20/11/2022 09:03

Looking at the Similar Threads from you that have popped up to see what I was doing then Grin

BintyMcBint · 20/11/2022 09:03

I’m still in bed, drinking tea and faffing on my phone.

My DH is abroad for work, teen DS still asleep, teen DD getting ready to go Christmas shopping with her friend.

I’m having a leisurely day today! Absolutely no housework allowed. Long bath, paint my nails, watch a couple of episodes of the Crown. Got a zoom call with some relatives in the USA at lunchtime, then meeting friends for dinner in Soho tonight and the teens are going to their Gran’s for dinner.

Have a nice Sunday, all!

Slimjimtobe · 20/11/2022 09:05

Having a lovely kid in child free morning and going to get some groceries and cook fajitas for dinner as I’ve loads of peppers onions and chicken. Pick up kids and later watch jungle

Kim82 · 20/11/2022 09:05

Good morning. I’ve no plans for today really. Just me, dh and dd8 are awake so far. Dh is considering visiting his sister then his parents I think and dd8 may be going with him but she’s undecided yet.

I need to do the usual Sunday organisation for the week - ironing uniforms, cleaning, homework, etc. but it shouldn’t take too long so I can have a pretty lazy day. It’s dd18’s choice of cake this week and she asked for the old style school sponge cake with icing and sprinkles on top so I’ll make that at some point today too.

This evening we have garlic chicken, mash and veg for tea and another evening on the sofa in front of the tv. I quite fancy having a couple of glasses of wine again tonight but that’s dependent on whether I can be bothered to walk to the shop to pick up a bottle…

Natsku · 20/11/2022 09:06

Played hide and seek in bed with DS before we got up (mainly involves him hiding under the blanket while I count to 100 then lift the blanket up) so was a nice slow start to the day, then had to make a packed meal for DD as she is off to the circus in the city today with circus school. Going to drop her off at the bus stop soon and then do the weekly shop.
Nothing else to do today, just relaxing, maybe watch Moomins with DS.

Cuppasoupmonster · 20/11/2022 09:07

Getting up slowly, going to take DD to your MILS for a couple of hours late morning then home for some lunch at around 1. After that we will probably laze around the house, ive got a pork belly joint to cook so will do a roast dinner and catch up on housework while DD watches CBeebies! DH is painting our home office, getting the house ready to go on the market in a few weeks

GoldenGorilla · 20/11/2022 09:09

Soft play birthday party 11 to 1, then drive across the city for a laser quest birthday party 1.30-3.30, then park the kids in front of the tv so that I can recover.

Simonjt · 20/11/2022 09:10

We’re doing our daughters little birthday party today, so that means dreaded extra children coming round. Apart from that as little as possible, I’ve been nagged to go to the park by my son so he can go on his scooter, so if the weather staya dry I might give in.

@lucysmam voluntarily cleaning a kitchen?! Are you okay?!

Nectarpeach · 20/11/2022 09:10

Slept in til 8 this morning, can't remember the last time I slept in so late!
Christmas trees going up today, got the living room one up last night so doing the rest today.

Bit of housework to do and some prep for next week, might do a roast for dinner, haven't decided yet, going to be a fairly lazy day as I'm still unwell (pretty sure it's COVID but no tests so can't say for certain) also promised my son we'd make cupcakes this weekend so going to do that today

lucysmam · 20/11/2022 09:12

🤣 @Simonjt it really needs it! It's become a bit of a dumping ground & there's stuff all over. I hope your dd's party is enjoyable 🎉

Perfect Sunday this morning already, “long lie” with DH.

Gutted our bedroom yesterday so have woken to clean bedding and and lit my Neom candle and DH is making a pot of coffee.

DD 1 (15) is working today, DD 2 (14) going out on a long hack on her pony with friend and DD 11 had a SJ competition on her pony which we have a lovely (unusual) late time for today!!

Back to do the washing/prep for the start of the school/work week and a bot of pork to put in the oven later on with a glass of red to toast the end of another fab weekend.

actualnamechange · 20/11/2022 09:18

Trying to find the energy to get myself into the shower. Once that's done I will wake DH so he can shower then we are going out to do a bit of shopping.

Ragingoverlife · 20/11/2022 09:22

I need to go out and buy stuff for my hospital bag and replacement uniform for my forever expanding son.

But I've got an upset stomach so can't really leave the house so now paranoid that I'm headed for labour. Which is making my anxiety around the hospital bag worse lol

I'm just under 34 weeks. So unlikely and probably just my body trying to get rid of something x

grayhairdontcare · 20/11/2022 09:28

Just having bacon and eggs then I'm going to cook my bolognaise for tomorrow's lasagna.
Doing duck legs for today's dinner.
And I need to go home bargain for cleaning supplies.

Giggorata · 20/11/2022 09:50

Tray of tea and washing hung out. It might not dry completely but I will finish it all off on the pulley hanging thingy above the wood burner.
I will change the bed, have a quick clean and tidy of the bedroom and whisk round the kitchen before the Snooker final this afternoon.
DH is out with the dogs before his Sunday morning yellow ticket forage at the supermarket.
Whatever he got out of the freezer the other day has been in the slow cooker all night, so that's dinner sorted. We have left over macaroni cheese with garlic mushrooms for brunch.

Chelsea26 · 20/11/2022 10:03

i got up earlier to sort the boys out before they left with their dad. DP worked overtime last night so I’ve just snuggled back into bed with him.

I’ll wake him shortly with a coffee as we’re heading down to Bournemouth for a couple of nights away with the dog.

Looking forward to it as I went to uni there and have many happy memories and places to revisit, and I think we’ll pop in to see an old friend of mum and dad on the way down. Tomorrow morning I think we’ll go for a walk up Hengistbury Head before finding a pub for the football!

afaloren · 20/11/2022 10:22

I got up to feed the pets and now we’re all back in bed. I want a cup of tea but there’s a cat on me. Might see if DH will make one.

We’re supposed to be going to DM’s for lunch but we’re both a bit under the weather and as she has friends round I don’t want to infect three 70 year olds. Will see how we feel and if not we’ll make a roast at home.

No dog walk today as DDog is limping :/

hodgehedge · 20/11/2022 10:27

Feeling very tired after the baby had me up multiple times in the night. Dh and I also had a few glasses of wine last night so I'm a bit bleary eyed.

Got up early nonetheless and had a nice dog walk with the kids around the park. Back home for bacon butties and I think we are having a drive out to a local nature reserve later for more walking and a bit of a play while the suns out. Might stop off somewhere on the way home for a hot chocolate and then it'll be settling down with a pork roast, strictly, baths and an early night!
