Help wanted from experienced “gamers”

Is anyone knowledgable about gaming, or more precisely YouTube gaming videos.

My son enjoys gaming and has been keen to make his own gaming videos. He watching you tube videos of other gamers talking over video captured of them gaming.

Can anyone suggest what equipment/ software he would need to capture his game play and edit it into a video? He plays switch.

im completely useless with anything gaming related, but would like to get him something for Christmas related to making videos.

I'm not 100% sure on the equipment but you could input it into YouTube and some YouTubers will show you exactly what they use and then you could find cheaper alternatives?

Hi thanks. I’ve watched a couple of YouTube videos and now see I need a capture card and to download some software onto the laptop. However I’m not sure how to tell if my laptop will be “compatible” or good enough to use for this purpose.
