Sneaky ring sizing??

DH lost his ring years ago but has been saying recently he'd want to replace it. I'd love to put it in his cracker on Xmas day but is there any way I can find out his ring size?????

Bumping for the Saturday crowd - any ideas how I can find out a wedding ring size without DH suspecting?? I'm clutching at straws I know but thought due to the number of proposals on MN someone may have known a sneaky way to work it out??

You could buy a ring sizer and do it while he's asleep?

I did the following for my now DWs engagement ring.

Put her finger in a beer bottle when she was sleeping. Figured that was a decent fit. Got a cheap ring that matched for the big moment. Then took that once I knew it fitted to the ring maker for a nice ring. Swapped that with her cheap one.

Then we had DD and DW finger got way thinner and had to get it resized anyway…ring sizing is surprisingly annoying!
