Octopus finally have them in my area and are spamming me to get one installed.

Are there any downsides? Are you happy with yours?

I like mine, it makes me much better at reducing energy use as it's like a video game, you see it creeping up and go round turning off lights etc , really concentrates the mind !

I love mine. I know my usage in real-time, it means I can adapt.

I had mine already installed when l moved into the property. I take readings each month to send to my provider - Octopus.

@OneTonNoodles Hi op , I have smart meters , plus side you can see what you are using on the in home display so it helps you monitor your usage and you don't need to submit readings . Downside is that knowing exactly what you are using and seeing the number go up and up can be stressful and sometimes the ihd can go off or not work properly.

I like it

My in home display tells me exactly how much I am using. For example - If I have my UFH on for an hour it (at current external temps) uses about 11kwh but if I have it on for just half an hour it uses 3/4 of that (around 7kwh), is never quite warm enough to feel comfortable and is cold again much more quickly.

My boiler is a 28kw one doesn't use that amount once the returning water is up to heat so it is more economical to run it for slightly longer as it requires less energy per hour once the circulating water is up to temp - even before the room is.

I like mine. It's currently switched off (so that I can't see the reading) because it was giving me mild anxiety. I prefer to have it than not due to the having accurate bills. I also requested it, wasn't sales pitched or anything like that.

Absolutely love ours, can see usage in real time, never have any issues with suppliers as they can see everything, any issues we've had they can resolve immediately, makes life so much easier. If we moved to a property without them I'd want them installed immediately

I love mine. Refused to have one for ages as I was unsure, then we were told we had to get new meters and they could only be smart. Totally love them and wish we’d done it sooner!
