Could it be the teacher's initials so they know what class they're in?

Moonflower12 · 18/11/2022 17:34

LO could be Learning objective ie what you hope to learn from the work.

Jayneisagirlsname · 18/11/2022 17:37

LC often means Lower Core but no idea with MD!

CryCeratops · 18/11/2022 17:39

I’d message the school asking for clarification.

xyzandabc · 18/11/2022 17:40

Are they the initials of the teacher that marked it?

Raera · 18/11/2022 17:47

I was thinking it was homework where you weren't sure what to do.
Can you give the context where these abbreviations appear?

Soontobe60 · 18/11/2022 17:50

If you can post a picture of the initials maybe we can help? Or if you DM me I can. I’m a teacher!

Stardewbeam · 18/11/2022 18:15

Where are the letters appearing? LO could be learning objective but then I’d think that was V obvious from the context.

Puddywoodycat · 18/11/2022 19:16

Ok let me ask another way.
Does work get marked anymore?

Weren't old grades something like achieved?

I'm so so lost since the old a,b c c went.

Then I got levels and now I just don't know how to see what she's achieved?@Puddywoodycat
Is lo mean learnings objective acu

OP posts:
Puddywoodycat · 18/11/2022 19:17

Would lo.mean lo has been achieved and what about LC?

OP posts:
Forever42 · 18/11/2022 19:19

What context are the letters in? Where are they written?

spanieleyes · 18/11/2022 19:21

Individual pieces of work wouldn't have a level assigned to them, not as a general rule anyway!

loupielou1 · 18/11/2022 19:25

LO means leaning objective. So what they are learning from that days lesson. The other letters if by the bottom of the page would be teachers initials from marking.

cakeorwine · 18/11/2022 19:29

Learning Criteria?

Puddywoodycat · 18/11/2022 19:32

MD and LC. Sometimes lo.

It's at the end of the work.

OP posts:
toomuchlaundry · 18/11/2022 19:32

Would the letters be initials of people who helped her with work so not all her own independent work

Itstarts · 18/11/2022 19:33

Are they at the top of the page? Down the margin? Or at the bottom?

Puddywoodycat · 18/11/2022 19:38

They are under her work where classically a grade used to be.

OP posts:
scoutcat · 18/11/2022 19:40

You don't really grade a piece of work. You'd give feedback either written or verbally. Does the school website have a marking policy?

LO means learning objective and is what the lesson is about. LO achieved means they have achieved what the lesson wanted them to.

I'm not sure on the others! Could they be the TA/teacher initials to say who marked it?

toomuchlaundry · 18/11/2022 19:42

Do the groups they sit in have names?

declutteringmymind · 18/11/2022 19:43

Ask the teacher perhaps.

TheWitchCirce · 18/11/2022 19:46

I'm sure the teacher will explain, we use a variety of initials
AS - adult support
FG - Focus Group
TM - target met...
