Horrible reaction to Asprin?!

I had the start of a Migraine last night and took 2 aspirin as someone mentioned them working great for that

I was amazed! Stopped migraine in its tracks. But few hours later I was a bit sore in the tummy

Fast forward to this morning (TMI) and I'm passing really loose stools that are really really bloody and mucusy. Horrific smell to them

I don't have any gastric issues so not sure where this has come from other than Asprin maybe?

Thanks if anyone has any tips or experience 😞

Aspirin can irritate the stomach lining so if you took it on an empty stomach and haven’t eaten anything it’s probably that.

Honestly if it knocked the migraine on the head I’d just get on with it (in the future I mean!). I normally take two paracetamol and two ibuprofen which might be worth trying?

Aspirin is a gastric irritant so could cause bleeding. Unlikely to do so if just taken once . Are you taking anything else like ibuprofen which is also a gastric irritant.
The smell means its partially digested blood coming from higher up in the GI tract. Sounds like you should contact doctor or 111 if it continues

I find Migraleve is brilliant for migraine and better for gastric issues.

Please talk to a medical professional.

My post makes no sense. I meant on a very personal level I’d put up with the gross bum to get rid of a migraine!

Oh for sure! If it was just tummy pain and vile bloody stools I'd put up with that to be free of migraines

Ibuprofen/paracemtol doesn't work but for some reason Asprin has

Try Migraleve or Cocodamol instead.
