Could my cat be pregnant.

My indoor cat got outside a while back when I left the window open slightly while cleaning , she had been missing all day 😬 and I believe she had been having her first season as she was very noisy before her escape .

I've noticed her belly is looking slightly plumper and she's asking for more food and using her litter tray alot more ...also her nipples are a bit more pronounced .

I don't know if all of this is because she's getting older and putting more weight .
I've included a pic of her nip

Could my cat be pregnant.

Why isn't she spayed?

Why isn't she spayed?

Good question

Fleurdaisy · 17/11/2022 17:34

Yes, if she’s not spayed. How old is she? Vet can scan to check or just wait. Make sure she has a box somewhere quiet and dark. Line it with paper and an old t shirt or similar. Will most likely give birth at night.

How far along would she be now if pregnant?

Floralnomad · 17/11/2022 17:35

You have an indoor cat , unspayed and in season so you leave a window open - that’s either a massive coincidence of events or more likely planned on your behalf . Let’s hope she’s not caught lots of other diseases as well .

ladydimitrescu · 17/11/2022 17:35

If she's not spayed and got out - of course she could be pregnant.

ofwarren · 17/11/2022 17:37

Yes, that looks like a pregnant nipple poor thing.

GoodVibesHere · 17/11/2022 17:38

Yes she could be pregnant if she's not spayed and has been outside.

We can't tell whether she actually is or not by looking at a close-up of a nipple Hmm

upfucked · 17/11/2022 17:39

You need to take her to the vets.

Chemenger · 17/11/2022 17:41

Unspayed, on heat, outside…let me think… yes, there is a good chance she’s pregnant.

astronewt · 17/11/2022 17:42

Take her to the fucking vets! And get her spayed. Jesus.

Pancakeorcrepe · 17/11/2022 18:34

Please be a responsible owner and spay your cat.

HappyHamsters · 17/11/2022 18:38

She got out, she was in season, of course she could be pregnant. Take her to the vet and what are you going to do if she is.

gottachangeforthisone · 17/11/2022 18:49

Why is your poor cat inside ? Old and unwell is OK for indoors. Get her spayed and let her outside. !!

saltrock123 · 17/11/2022 19:15

Please get her spayed now. Highly irresponsible to not do so even if she is an indoor cat.

Chocolate2020 · 17/11/2022 19:56

I do not want any kittens i'm content with one cat . The amount of hate people get if their cats get pregnant is awful.
I will get her spayed but is it possible when they are pregnant

You can spay a pregnant cat. It would have been better for your cat and your wallet if you'd spayed her before she got pregnant

You can indeed. I had to do it to mine years ago after the same incident. I just didn't think!

RatSlave · 17/11/2022 20:02

You need to to take her for a spay abort, she's far too young to have kittens and both her and the kittens would be at serious risk if you let the pregnancy continue.

Regularsizedrudy · 17/11/2022 20:06

Of course she’s pregnant ffs. You’ve put your cat through the horrible experiences of a heat and pregnancy and now she will have to go through even more unpleasantness of a spay abort. Great job. Why did you get a cat if you can’t do the bare minimum for her.

Certain breeds need indoor homes only 🤷🏻‍♀️
