Bit of a random question but does anyone know if you can put foil trays in the airfryer? We have chicken breasts that come in a tray with sauce on and I want to do in airfryer is it safe to put tray in too?

I haven't tried it, but I can't see why not as it's just a mini oven, just as long as the foil is suitable to cook in.

I've used foil trays in mine.

Yes, its fine to put a foil tray in an airfryer. Also has the added befit of keeping it clean and stopping al the oil going everywhere

Yes you can put anything in an air fryer that you put in an oven.

Reduce the cooking temp further than you normally would - I find it cooks things in foil trays even faster than it does normally

Thanks both yes the tray is meant to go in the oven, will try and see how I get on 🙂

I used a tin pie dish in my fryer. It was fine. A foil dish is fine to use.

I have tried this. It blows around a lot and the tray rattles! You can try the non fan setting but it doesn’t seem to work as well on that setting. So my test results were: you can do it but it’s not ideal.

Yep - I froze all my batch cooked meals for when baby arrived in them, just do what you'd do in the normal oven and take the cardboard top off then Chuck in the air fryer tray!

Carpediem15 · 17/11/2022 16:39

If there is food in the tray it will not move anymore than in a normal oven. They do move about if you put them in empty whilst it is warming and in my Nija it would be sucked up into the lid.
I cook lots of food in trays, silicone, pottery and metal and not had a problem with them.
