Victorian terrace in London. Just been quoted £100. Dunno if this is good or bad

Ours cost £72. I'm in the SE, just outside London.

Bibbitybobbityboot · 17/11/2022 15:08

(Also in a Victorian terrace)

4 bed semi detached in SE in February was £220. We were definitely ripped off!

Sounds reasonable. If you tie it in with a window clean you might get a little bit of a discount.

dementedpixie · 17/11/2022 15:18

Is it to clear out the contents or to clean the plastic fascias as well?

I paid £40 recently to get the contents cleared out. It would have been another £40 to clean the outsides

bigfamilygrowingupfast · 17/11/2022 15:18

Gosh! We last payed £40 and it's now gone up to £50 which I thought was excessive!

Although I have a detached house with gutters on 4 sides - scotland

yikesanotherbooboo · 17/11/2022 15:20

£125 4 bed semi in the SE.

WhatHaveIFound · 17/11/2022 15:25

We paid £145 for gutters & window cleaning earlier this year. We have a big detached house underneath a load of trees so very hard work and I felt it was the right price for the job.

BretonBlue · 17/11/2022 15:28

£65 for gutter clearing - 4 bed largish detached in the West Mids. Our usual window cleaner does it annually for us.

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 17/11/2022 15:35

I pay 80 for a small house.

maximist · 17/11/2022 15:35

A neighbour was having some roofing work done (NW England) and I asked the guy to clear my gutters - I knew one was blocked as it was overflowing and I could see a plant in it. He checked them all (extended end terrace, so four in total), cleared the blocked one and charged me £20. I was very chuffed, I'd previously had a quote for £150, which I just laughed at...

MandyMotherOfBrian · 17/11/2022 15:48

Hmmm sounds a bit steep. Pay GBP140 here but it’s a large detached house and also all gutters cleaned on four outbuildings too. Includes any minor repairs required.
Local company offering an offer price of GBP40 to new customers, that sounds more like it for a terrace tbh.

Yabado · 17/11/2022 15:48

Just the back guttering of my house I paid £35 back in August

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 17/11/2022 15:51

I paid £150 including repair of 2 leaky bits.
Looking for tradespeople at the moment for a few different things & prices seem to be super high for everything.
£195 yest to hang 1 door (not including door price)

WaltonOnNaze · 17/11/2022 16:23

should have said it is front and back and quite a big house, for a terrace.

OP posts:
HappyHamsters · 17/11/2022 16:25

That sounds cheap. Our in the sw charges £30 per side

OccultOctopus · 17/11/2022 16:28

Last year I paid about £50 for the windows to be cleaned and the gutters cleared out.

This year it was £83 for that plus the fascias cleaned.

Midlands.

GiantKitten · 17/11/2022 17:49

Last year was £45 for our mid-terrace, done with ladders and a giant hoover.
Straight across the front upstairs.
3-sided bay downstairs front.
Short straight length at back, plus 3 sides of (Victorian) rear extension.
He took loads of photos while he was up there, befores and afters, it was fascinating!

Haven't done it this year though, sorry.

minticecreamisjustok · 17/11/2022 17:53

I had mine done today including windows cleaned £120 SE, another company quoted me over £200 which seemed excessive

lieselotte · 17/11/2022 18:00

I pay £200 for mine, that's cleaning them out and washing everything. But they did come and sort out a blockage for free, so it's swings and roundabouts. And ours get really full with leaves as we have a row of trees near the house. If it's only really a wash then it shouldn't more than about £50.

DoodlePug · 17/11/2022 18:03

We paid £140, first time it has been done and when I asked how long it'd take they said 1.5 hours so I thought it sounded fair. It actually took under 30 minutes, I feel ripped off.
