Having a stupid stress about DS’ friendship

DS6 has recently started a new school and has made one good friend. I shared with the Mum that DS is undergoing assessment for ASD and now I’m worried that it will somehow put her off the friendship.
I have no good reason to think this - she seems like a lovely, non judgmental person - but just so want this friendship to work out for DS.
Am I being really silly or is this is a valid concern?

This does come off the back of having a weekend away with one of my childhood friends who has had an adult diagnosis of ASD and spent much of the weekend talking about how she feels other adults turn away from her when she lets them know about her diagnosis, so that might be influencing my thoughts.
