Hi I'm currently sat in Newcastle airport
Checked in and I can't bottle it now
Haven't flown in 13 years
I'm terrified
Sounds silly but just want to know it's gonna be okay
Take off scares me
It's the intense feeling
Eeeek
Going to lanzarote

I'm terrified of flying and no amount of people rationalising with me, telling me its the safest way to travel etc helps.

But I did see a hypnotherapist who said something that resonated. She said...

"Would you jump off a dangerous cliff, even though the water at the bottom looked amazing and clear and you really wanted to swim?"
"No"
"Why?"
"Because I know I'd probably die"
"Right. Your brain won't let you. It KNOWS the danger is not worth the benefit. Now...Will you go and get on a plane to go on an amazing holiday"
"Yes but I'll be completely terrified"
"OK. You may be scared, but remember- if your brain KNEW the danger outweighed the benefit, it would not let you get on that plane at all. If you can't trust anything else- trust yourself because deep down you DO know it's safe or you wouldn't even be considering it".

That's the only thing (along with Valium!) That ever helped me.

Try and get on the easyJet fearless flying course. They've done wonders for people in recent years.
