What’s the longest your toddler/child has had a consecutive fever for?

Only wondered as we were at the GP today and they said if DS gets to 7 days we would need to go back in so they could send us in to the hospital which really took me aback as I didn’t realise that was done.

I know after 5 days they say to get checked out but I figured that was so they could listen to chest/check throat etc to see if there were any signs of infection!

Anyone? Just curious as I’m sure DS has had a mild temp for longer than this before!

Teen DD had a temperature for 2 months straight recently, getting up to around 38 on a daily basis and a few occasions where it spiked up to nearly 40. Bloods were consistently fine and no other symptoms so doctors basically had no idea what to do with her. We spent a night at A&E on GP’s advice and she was admitted for observation over that weekend but again bloods etc completely normal so nobody was particularly helpful or interested! All of a sudden it disappeared and to this day we have no idea what happened or what caused it

Should add that prior to the temperatures starting she’d also had spinal surgery a month beforehand, so obviously my concern was infection due to that. Nobody, not even one of the top UK spine consultants shared my concerns and simply made out that our thermometer was wrong and she was being over dramatic as ‘nobody can have a temperature for that long’ 🤦‍♀️

I also recently had a bug or something that made me have a temp for around 10 days. Didn't feel particularly ill just a bit tired. Then it suddenly vanished!
