Online order from amazon from a different seller

I made an online order from amazon. I ordered a Teddy from the brand - Charlie Bears. When I checked on amazon for a bear I was brought to what I thought was a Charlie bear shop on amazon. I found the bear I was looking for. I paid for it and I got an order number. This was all yesterday.

Now I think, there's something not quite right. I discovered that I was going to be dispatched from a different seller. Not only that the delivery time frame is long. It was dispatched today but it said the delivery date will be Friday December the 2.

This is a gift that will be boxed up and posted abroad and this is making me nervous now. The delivery is so far away. 2 and half weeks really. It's just too long.

When I made the order gave a delivery date between Nov the 25th and Dec the 5th I think. I made the order in the hope that I will get a quicker delivery than December.

Has this happened to anyone else and do think that seller is genuine. I would love to get this next week if at all possible.

I got a dispatch email today but I wasn't provided with a tracking number. Is this odd.

Now I wish I didn't rush this order.

Sounds like you bought from Amazon Marketplace, it's just Amazon hosting third party sellers. It's very likely to be completely legit, I've bought from there many times with no problems, but you should never assume delivery will be earlier than stated (although it sometimes is)

The delivery date is within the delivery window stated so nothing wrong with that.

It will probably come sooner, sellers often put a long date so that people don't complain that it hasn't arrived yet. It does sound like a typical Amazon Marketplace delivery so should be all fine

I sell on Amazon as part of my work for a brand.
there can be multiple sellers of any one item, including Amazon themselves, the product owner and many 3rd party sellers. They compete to win the ‘buy box’ - where you hit order - and it can change all the time dependent on lots of factors behind the scenes, mostly lowest price.
if you want to purchase from a specific seller click the alternative prices shown in small font under the main price and select your seller.
There’s no reason to think you aren’t going to receive a genuine product. If the delivery timescale isn’t suitable cancel the order and place a new order with a seller who offers suitable delivery options
