‘NHS Scotland is preparing new trans inclusivity guidelines for Nicola Sturgeon.

Included in the proposal are consideration to 'erasing' the word woman.

Experts have claimed members of the trans community can be alienated.’

Experts = Evil people.

Absolutely ridiculous. There is a way to be inclusive to trans people without erasing the word "woman"

Topseyt123 · 16/11/2022 09:08

Completely stupid and ridiculous.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 16/11/2022 09:10

Hopefully this will push that woman sturgeon out. Her need for power is making her irrational

BigFatLiar · 16/11/2022 09:12

Are they also 'erasing' man, boy, girl, lady, gentleman etc.

Scottishskifun · 16/11/2022 09:18

The Scottish govt is being taken to court again for their bill and trying to water down the definitions.

But the NHS thing is already happening I go to a breastfeeding group which is called surprisingly a breastfeeding group.......recently was told they should be changing their name to chestfeeding group! To which all the members said no it was confusing to new mothers and the point is to offer support for breastfeeding! Got a bit of a backlash from the organisers (NHS) but the name stays for now!

MarshaBradyo · 16/11/2022 09:19

Of course they are. I hope we never elect anyone who would erase it here

Pearls1234 · 16/11/2022 09:20

Don’t want to alienate the trans community but happy to alienate women, clearly.
Agree it’s ridiculous, how dare they tell women that what we are is somehow wrong/offensive.

Comedycook · 16/11/2022 09:21

I think we should erase the word "millionaire". It makes me feel really shit about my financial situation.

Chest feeding group? My god that is horrendous.

I will be dead within ten years and I am glad I won’t be around to see the madness society will have descended into!

People are fighting these changes but the education system is turning out brainwashed lefties who want this nonsense and they will be take over as the majority and veto this crap in.

So woman is an offensive term? Misogyny has no bounds.

GarlicOnBeans · 16/11/2022 09:48

Are they also dropping men?

Whole thing is ridiculous and offensive. I feel alienated by removal of language that describes me.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 16/11/2022 09:50

Sadly the young women who took part have enabled Brian a bloke to win!

In the current self-id proposals Trans men in Scotland would have to declare that they are 'living in their acquired gender' for 3 months before they are granted a GRC, and become legal men. It would be an offence to make a false declaration apparently.. so does that mean that in Scotland we would see a drop in trans men becoming pregnant, 'chest feeding' and using maternity services? You know, solely biological female actions.
And therefore, language could remain intact and protected to accurately describe the women and girls that use these services?

Emmamoo89 · 16/11/2022 10:08

That's just ridiculous. When's it going to end. Also will not be calling it chestfeeding. 🙄

How much more do I need to do to live in an acquired gender as a man? I live in trousers, have short hair, I'm the major earner in our house - I'd love to be a legal man so that I can get a pay rise.

There traying to have 3 sexes, Men, women the transgender kind of women and then Menstraters, biological women. Time to take our heads out of the sand, trans ideaoligy is being taught in school to 6 year old. Your children are being told they could be different gender at school. We need to stop this now.

DogsAkimbo · 03/01/2023 06:29

The term ‘chestfeeding’ is creepy somehow, making it sound less ‘womanly’ is creepy.

To be fair, you can see why 'she' won the contest.

I never understand the phrase chestfeeding. It doesn't matter what sex you are or how you ID, we all have breasts, unless they have been surgically removed. Biological males can get breast cancer.
If someone is chest feeding, it means they are using some kind of apparatus to simulate breastfeeding, which is an entirely different thing. If I was actually breastfeeding, I wouldn't feel a chest feeding group was aimed at me.

For anyone attending a breastfeeding support group or antenatal clinics etc please download and print out this excellent paper and use it to back up your rejection of these silly euphemisms

Make 2023 the year women claim back their language and let the NHS know we will not tolerate having this rubbish imposed on us

FannyCann · 03/01/2023 06:53

I work in the NHS and I am not having it.

I keep a copy of the paper in my bag at the ready and periodically print off more to hand out to colleagues. Recently I gave copies to a nurse I know who is heading off to health visitor training and to another who is applying for midwifery. I have also posted it on the hospital intranet more than once. I called out the communications people who referred to some female cancers in sex neutral terms and they apologised and promised not to do it again!

I think many people just don't know about this or think about it too hard so it's really great to have a paper that explains the issue so clearly and if you are nervous about your job (I don't want to get hauled over the coals either) there is a paper written by well respected senior professionals that you can refer to to justify yourself

Saw an IBCLC who wanted to be more inclusive of trans men who term how THEY feed THEIR babies chest feeding. So she renamed her business 'infant feeding' or something like that as it also covered bottles, cups, mix feeding, weaning, oh and breastfeeding of course. She just called it whatever the client wanted to call it, which seemed sensible, as it was their body.
