When did you become Peri Menopausal

I've started having terrible night sweat to the point my bed sheets are soaking wet. I'll be 36 in a few weeks and I'm wondering if this is the start of the menopause. I've also had terrible joint pain, which I've read is also a sign.

I am wondering if I'm too young, but then aware it can start early.

When did you notice you were peri menopausal and what were your first systems?

Thanks 🙏

I’ve had the same thing! Hot flushes, night sweats, strange dreams. But I’m 34 and still have regular periods. They’re very short, approx 3 days now but at the same time each month.

Periods stared to be a bit irregular and PMT turned into an unpredictable rollercoaster

I'm 39, 40 next month and I'm pretty sure I'm having a few peri menopausal symptoms already.
My periods are all over the place at the moment. I've gone from 30 days between periods, to 24 days (for about 6 months), to now being about 6 weeks apart.
The actual period itself has changed, I'm spotting for the first day or two, then when it finally arrives it lasts for about 2 days. I'm experiencing more ovulation pain, more achy boobs and achy hip joints...oh and I've noticed some delightful hairs on my chin.

Oh...and I swear this morning I had a hot flush while driving to work!!

You need to see a doctor and not immediately try and make symptoms fit a peri menopause narrative

That's really important. You should not be having symptoms of peri menopause at your age. Of course there are exceptions and you'll
No doubt have a hundred people now tell you they had their first symptom at 14 or wherever but it's not the norm so you need other things ruling out first before you put it down to that

The average age for menopause is 51.

Tootsey11 · 16/11/2022 14:22

First symptoms at 34. No doctor would listen. Menopause at 43.

There is exceptions to every rule. Don't let anyone tell you that you are too young.

I was 42 my periods became very heavy, my nails brittle and achining joints, hot and cold flushes together with night sweats followed a few years later. 53 now and symptons aren't so severe but still there, the worse being sleep deprived.
