Can someone recommend a coffee machine?

I am a heathen and haven't so much as tasted coffee so I'm at a loss!

Husband loves coffee and I want to get him a nice coffee machine for the kitchen. He uses that Douwe Egbert gold stuff at home and when we are out gets cappuccinos, lattes, flat whites and occasionally espresso

Did look at Nespresso but wonder about the ongoing cost of the pods? Don't want something so expensive he barely uses it! But if it's reasonable that's fine!

I feel like he's mentioned needing a milk frother as part of one before..

I would a like Neppresso, they are not good quality.

What is your budget and what capacity do you need?

This is reduced at the moment -

If you want a budget machine then this Lavazza one is a good buy -

I would not get a Nepresso - that’s what that is meant to read as ^^

I think you should go for an espresso machine with a milk steamer wand.
I have a pod machine and an espresso machine and the espresso machine makes much nicer coffee (I drink lattes).

It also doesn't have the waste of all the pods.

I can recommend the Lavazza machines. Very nice coffee and you can compost the pods. If you subscribe, you can save quite a lot of money on the pods.

Delonghi Magnifica bean to cup. Not too pricy (in the world of bean to cup machines), popular and really rather good. I bought one for OH a few years ago and it’s used daily, sometimes several times. My parents highlight is getting a latte when they are at our house. I use it a lot myself too and I was never much of a coffee person.

We have one of those small Smeg ones with a milk frothier on the side, only me drinks coffee in our house so a large machine seemed a bit wasteful and would take up more room. The Delongi Dedica is the cheaper version version of the Smeg, basically it's the same without the expensive brandIng. I am very happy with mine and it makes a good cup of coffee.

Too noisy and pods prohibitively expensive - we’ve swapped to a Moka pot and use M&S Cornish milk for frothing - delicious

I have a nespresso and am really happy with it. I have about 2 cups a day and buy generic (not nespresso branded) pods online which cost about £9 a month.

I second this, had it about a year and it gets so much use, it's probably my favourite kitchen purchase!
