Bosch / fabric conditioner

I got a new Bosch series 8 washing machine, and can't smell the fabric conditioner any more, plus the clothes don't feel as soft. What am I doing wrong, is it the long eco wash cycles? Which cycle should I use? Or is it not enough conditioner with the bigger drum? Any insights appreciated please.

How new?

Just a few weeks old

Hey, no one else replied, so a quick bump for you.

Have you checked the machine gets hot? Test it on a 60 maintenance wash..touch the glass and see if it's heating up. It could be a faulty element, but it seems unlikely given how new it is.

My mate has the most gorgeous smelling washing. She uses blocks of fairy (not the liquid, the solid powder blocks) and alternates between blue lenor and fairy fabric conditioner. Worth a try?

Thank you. It does heat up, and clean everything, it just seems to rinse out all the fabric conditioner. I'll try shorter wash cycles instead of the long eco ones.

I don't use conditioner, but have a Bosch and my washing doesn't smell of fairy liquid at all, my friend also has a Bosch and she says hers doesn't either. When I go to other people's houses I can smell their washing powder straight away if the washing is on a clothes horse

Oh dear, that sounds like I've bought a bad washing machine type then. I'll try contacting Bosch to see if they have some kind of lower rinse setting.

If the machine is rinsing your clothes very thoroughly then that is a good thing! It’s not good for your skin to be in contact with highly perfumed residues all day and night.

I've always thought of it as a good thing that my clothes don't smell of chemicals - hopefully they have been well rinsed!
