I've been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and have been medicated heavily for the last three years.
It's taken years to get this diagnosis. The meds help, sure. But it doesn't fix it and I still have episodes, albeit no where near as severe.
However... my partner fairly recently dropped a bomb on me out of the blue and declared that I scream ADHD. These comments are becoming increasingly more frequent.
He's currently awaiting his own diagnosis for ADHD.
Since we moved in, we've started clashing. His behaviours/traits are the completely opposite to mine. I'm scatty as fuck and will do a million things in one time, and he hyper-fixates and flaps over things that I feel are not the right things/helpful at the time. And I mean reaaaally unhelpful.
Anyway, point of the post was - has anyone ever been diagnosed with both? I know that there can be similarities between the two in terms of symptoms.
There is a huge part of me that thinks he's projecting things onto me, but I guess that's a whole other discussion.
I don't think I'm mentally ready to consider there being another issue/thought of being wrongly diagnosed after all these years.
I am le tired.
