Where have all the comfy cotton leggings gone?

I have so many cotton leggings, but have not bought any new ones since DC born and now mine are falling to bits and can't find any to buy!

All the ones in the shops seem to be: too thin: viscose or polyester; have a weird thick waistband that is made with insufficiently stretchy elastic.

Just spent an hour looking online and can't find any in my size with good reviews at a reasonable price. Was tempted by Seasalt, but they are almost £30 a pair! I might pay that if the reviews were all great, but they were not.

If you like plain, comfy, cotton leggings - where do you get them from these days?

Last leggings I bought were from saindburys tu. Wear under dress or skirt, so not sure whether you can see pants or not, but seem quite thick. Comfy, good waistband elastic, didn't bunch on the leg.

Mine are Lands End from the sale. Still not cheap but indestructible.

I get my thick, cosy leggings from Primark. Not the see through ones for £2.50. The thicker ones for £6! They’re great

Boden. I don't buy anything else from them these days, but their leggings are great!

MissEstherDaniel · 15/11/2022 18:20

The last I got are from Sainsbury's also.

Lcb123 · 15/11/2022 18:22

I have some from bambooclothing.co.uk - totally worth the money, so soft and comfy.

Germolenequeen · 15/11/2022 18:23

Brave Soul from M&M Direct - fab 🙂

Tumbleweed101 · 15/11/2022 18:30

Primark with the soft inside are thick enough not to be see through but very comfy. They last pretty well too for the price point.

LizzieMacQueen · 15/11/2022 18:34

Thought Clothing do a range in bamboo I believe. Or at least, they used to.

Saucery · 15/11/2022 18:36

Sainsbury’s or M&S. Seasalt ones are awful, go baggy after one wash and fade at the crotch after about 3 wears.

Shiningstarr · 15/11/2022 18:37

All mine are from M&S

rainydays365 · 15/11/2022 18:37

Thick primark leggings last years the cosy £6 ones

TheFormidableMrsC · 15/11/2022 18:39

Love Leggings (they have 10% off at the moment) or Tu Luxury Leggings

ofwarren · 15/11/2022 18:39

Sainsburys for me too

WhoppingBigBackside · 15/11/2022 18:40

I have ones from Sainsbury's and ones from Primark.

alsonotmyname · 15/11/2022 18:51

My favourite pair are my sainsbury ones

jadedspark · 15/11/2022 18:53

Sainsbury’s leggings (the £12 ones not the two pack) or asos premium leggings (also £12 if I remember correctly).

TwoMonthsOff · 15/11/2022 18:55

@Spanielsarepainless second the Lands End ones, I’m thinking of getting the fleece lined ones they have at the moment.
Their Pyjamas are lovely too and all cotton

SuperlativeOxymoron · 15/11/2022 18:55

Tu @ Sainsburys and Matalan Papaya

hellosunshineagainxxx · 15/11/2022 18:56

Fatface

BoobsOnTheMoon · 15/11/2022 19:01

Why do people keep suggesting the Primark plastic fantastic ones when the OP literally specified cotton? I mean, the Primark ones are great, I have some, but they are not cotton!

OP, try organic cotton ones from Thought. I've also had some surprisingly good ones from Simply Be last year!

@BoobsOnTheMoon because we’re talking about the cosy leggings which are indeed cotton…..

We’re not talking about the £2.50 see through ones. We’re talking about the £6 thicker cotton leggings

Waterfalls39 · 15/11/2022 19:11

I've had some ones from Seasalt and they're awful... go baggy round the knees and completely shapeless within 10 minutes of wearing. I get lots of clothes from there, and usually love them but their leggings are shite.

DanglingMod · 15/11/2022 19:12

Mint Velvet. Excellent quality and have a great flat panel/waistband thing so they don't cut into you. £19 but definitely worth it.

Crikeyalmighty · 15/11/2022 19:12

All mine are from M&S and I have about 10 pairs ranging from £12 cheapies to £30 or so with decorative zips etc -
