Friend going through a difficult time unhappy in relationship

But I don’t know how to help her

she says herself of it was a friend on the same situation she would say to leave
but she also says it’s so hard when your actually in it

there been some name calling from him to her which is awful

I just don’t know how to help her through

Any ideas at all
I listen and try to be supportive

Problem is if you tell her to leave him and he’s no good etc and she stays with him it will cause resentment and she most likely will dump you and not him.

All you can do is listen and be supportive without running him down as such but stress that she deserves to be treated well whoever she is with.

Calling him a bastard is unhelpful but helping her build her self esteem by praising her and bolstering her low self esteem might help give her the emotional strength to get rid of him.
