Tattoo removal

Can anyone offer any advice on how long it takes to remove a tattoo? And how painful it is?
It's a plain black single line work tattoo on my ribs, I didn't find it remotely painful getting the tattoo. It's very basic numbers and Roman numerals total size probably 1inch x 2.5inches and I've had it for around 6 years.

It hurts, it's like being spat at by burning fat from a frying pan, over and over, i've been having 10 removed, on the plus side it is very quick and black removes the best, the black from mine went within 3 sessions, red and green are the hardest to get rid of, guess what the main colours are in most of mine! Funny enough, i just got home from one of my removal sessions. Im having 2 removed. It really hurts 🥲. Other areas more than others. Much more than getting a tattoo. The older the better. Expensive and painful to round up!

Oh man I'll need to have my brave pills when I make the appointments it's really bitty and because of where it is it will rub on bra/clothing so expecting it to be a bit stingy and annoying.

@pinkyredrose I'm getting it removed as it relates to my marriage which is over

Yea the aftecare is annoying and hard to not irritate. My lady covers mine with gauze and i take off after 24 hours as you cant wet. Get a good oil like bio oil for reducing scarring. The pain subsides as soon as the laser stops, just feels a bit sunburnt after but it really is quite painful while its going! Come back once you've started and let us know how it was!
