Forgive me Mumsnet for I have sinned

Had a really tough day with my toddlers yesterday. DH poured me a large whiskey & coke, then I thought I'd treat myself to another. I then proceeded to eat £15 worth of chocolates that I'd bought as Christmas presents. To make things worse, I'm supposed to be on a diet!

I can't tell anyone IRL for fear of judgement. Please tell me your light-hearted sins to make me feel a bit better!

This was all after the DC had gone to bed, obviously!

I bought 5 small boxes of toffifee for Christmas stockings. I have eaten them all over the last month.
The chocolate oranges are starting to look tempting and I don't actually like chocolate orange.

I'm telling DS6 school a lie to get him out of compulsory after school club today (shouldn't even be compulsory after school hours!) so I don't have to deal with him being over tired for the 9th week running or him whinging he doesn't want to go. Grin

Hope the chocolates were yummy!

Buy Bailey's for Christmas as on offer.
Weekend comes, we drink the Bailey's.
Shopping again today, hope the offer ends soon.

Dh has always had a chocolate orange in his stocking, used to get it from his mum, she sent him them in the army, she brought him one in hospital and when she was dying she made sure he got one. So obviously I always get him one. Except I have to buy 50 because they are a great work snack. I won’t tell you how many years they were bought on Christmas Eve

LeMoo · 14/11/2022 08:39

This is why I don't buy chocolate gifts until just before lol

carefulcalculator · 14/11/2022 08:45

We no longer buy any Christmas chocolates early! Sometimes we buy Christmas chocolates expressly to eat, but we have long since given up kidding ourselves we can keep a tin of Quality Street for more than about three days in our house.

Hugsgalore · 14/11/2022 08:48

I ate a whole bag of jellies last night. 60g of sugar… fuck sake

ChickenRat · 14/11/2022 08:48

Our Christmas quality street was opened last night. But George Russell won his first F1 Grand Prix so obviously we had to celebrate with Christmas chocolates and it wasn't our fault 🤷‍♀️😂

girlmom21 · 14/11/2022 08:48

Christmas chocolates in your house aren't supposed to last until Christmas. I'm sure there's a law about it.

Choconut · 14/11/2022 08:50

It would have been rude not to OP.
The Christmas food we have bought in advance has all been hidden away as it's the only chance we've got of it lasting anywhere near Christmas.

OrigamiOwls · 14/11/2022 09:32

I've already made a start on the tins of Christmas Heroes.

Theunamedcat · 14/11/2022 09:37

I thought this was going to be about toilet brushes and dog bowls in the dishwasher again

I'm gluten intolerant I buy wheat filled treats to stop myself from doing this the gluten free ones don't last I literally ate my bourbon biscuits yesterday 😅
