Bob is a Zygiella x-notata - a missing sector orb weaver.

Well, I say Bob. I mean Kate.

SugarKaneKowalczyk · 12/11/2022 22:34

A garden spider

grumpyparrot · 12/11/2022 22:34

Came to second@NeverDropYourMooncup (also kudos for that alias!). Though much prefer 'Bob'.

FeelWellEnoughToTellYou · 12/11/2022 22:37

We have one outside our window. I worry about it getting cold at night so I leave the window open a bit.

CoachBeard · 12/11/2022 22:41

Roberta is an araneus diadematus or garden cross spider. You can tell by the very distinctive markings on her back.

Chloefairydust · 12/11/2022 22:42

It looks like a pregnant one, hope your prepared for lots of baby spiders OP 😱

Wonderful, thank you! She is in my local Tesco.

We have one in the hall. We have named her Cassandra.

BeetleManiac · 12/11/2022 23:19

I agree with Araneus diadematus Garden Cross Spider. It's not Zygiella x-notata.

CockSpadget · 12/11/2022 23:21

when you see the beautiful dewy textbook looking webs, all over hedges on a misty morning, these are the spiders that made them.

MossGrowsFat · 12/11/2022 23:26

In your local Tesco... you can't just leave it at that.

I hope they don't kill it!

Carlycat · 12/11/2022 23:37

She's beautiful. I'd take her home to live in my garden
