Are stalls/balcony seats worth it for Cabaret?

(the Cabaret production at the Playhouse theatre?)

Dramatic price difference between the cabaret table tickets at £250pp and stalls/balcony seats.

Will i regret booking balcony/stalls?

I went in Sept and got £50 balcony seats, and thought it was great. It's a small theatre so you don't miss out, I don't think.

You won't regret seeing it, so just go for whatever you can afford

The seats are all pretty great, nothing feels too far from the stage because of the way it's staged.

Enjoy. It's bloody marvellous.

As others have said you will enjoy any which way - it is a small theatre so if it saves you £400 then I reckon you will still have a lovely time - if you can afford the £250 seats - then do it but I don't think it is necessary to enjoy the thing in a very small slightly intimate theatre. DH & DS have been to lots of things there and they think they can see the point of the tables but the stalls and cheaper seats are still great

don't buy the food though - it's shit!

I have seen it 4 times now (I know I know) bought £30 seats in top back in first few weeks... then was treated to table seats with food... then wanted to see the next cast and hubby and I went for his birthday and had nice stalls table seat but without food... then finally was lucky enough to win daily lottery tickets and got stalls for £25 each more recently.

Food was very expensive cold aeroplane food - beetroot salad, then chicken salad then a chocolate mousse with a pretzel and chocolate brownie. very over priced and not worth it. you do get a bottle of champagne to share though.

Get the best seat you can afford, but £250 is a lot when you can sit a little further back for £100 less. You do get a bit of interaction in the table seats though and you wont be disappointed if you do pay for it...

I am off to start entering the lottery again as we had an understudy emcee so still want to see CallumScott Howells (understudy very good so not complaining)

Finally saw it last week - 2nd row stalls (table seat). Didn't do the food package as neither of us were drinking, not worth it. Did buy a pretzel and some ice cream though.

Great show!

It is amazing isn't it?

Have tickets to see it again in September but still go in for the daily lottery each day just in case I can see it again.

Won lottery tickets on Thursday and the new Emcee is AMAZING - lottery tickets are in the stalls.

The production has been tweaked a little and seems to keep getting better!

estellacruella · 25/01/2024 23:14

Is it true the endings change and did u see any of the alternative ending when u went again? X

IamSallyBowles · 28/01/2024 15:12

No... the ending has been the same every time. other elements have changed a bit but nothing significant - e.g. costume tweaks

the whole things is different from the film - but this is the stage version.

I have seen it 7 times now - most recent was about a month ago (twixmas)
