Cramps/bleeding from sex during ovulation

Hi all, a bit freaked out so wondering has anyone experienced this? mid cycle - tail end of ovulation so not due period (this sometimes happens when pre- menstrual) Not PIV sex so can't be an internal injury.

Stomach cramps (feels like v strong period pain) started when aroused and crippling for about 30 mins after (clitoral) orgasm, and a tiny bit of bleeding after.

Just wondering as it's an odd time in my cycle to experience this, is it normal?

Definitely not pregnant, and possibly starting peri, if relevant.

Thanks!

Have you always had this? If it’s something new I would definitely see your GP about it…

I know when ovulating your cervix can be a little lower and softer than any other time of the month, I find sex a bit painful when I’m ovulating especially certain positions… But then you said you don’t have PIV sex so wouldn’t think this would be causing it 🤔 … So I don’t know but definitely get it checked out if it’s a new thing

It's such a strange coincidence you've posted this; I am experiencing the same today.

Pre-baby, I had a bit of ovulation spotting. But only ever in the year I was trying for a baby, never before that. Got a scan at the docs, all fine. Nothing to report, put it down to hormones. I do suffer with hormonal migraines, PMT, etc so didn't surprise me.

Had baby, nothing for a few years and now it's back with a vengeance. Not sure why, we're not trying again.

I noticed it came back exactly 7 days after my period this month, I feel crap and have a headache. Lots of CM starting again, so I think ovulation related (sorry for being so graphic). Cramps, bleeding. But it seems a bit early in the month?

I wasn't worried but I went for my smear test two weeks ago and she noticed my cervix was 'bulky.' She said this is often normal in overweight women who've had babies. Didn't tell me to do anything, but it sent me spiralling a bit. I Googled and figured it could be polyps or other benign growths. I've always had pretty heavy periods but nothing of note on the pre-baby scan.

Managed to forget all about it until today, cramps, a bit of blood, etc. Feel weak and fuzzy like a migraine is on the way too.

I suspect my hormones are totally out of whack—dunno whether imbalance due to my weight (I could do with losing a few stone) and bad diet or perimenopause starting. My anxiety and mood are all over the place on set days of the month too (I suspect hormone drops/surges) so definitely think something hormonal is up.

I'm not really sure what to do. Might book another docs appt, might wait for smear to come back first. Hoping the bleeding/cramping will stop now so I can just put it down to ovulation spotting. Though it does seem a few days too early this month but that can happen, I think.

Sorry you're going through the same, unsettling isn't it...

I'm 37 if relevant.

@WantToChangeNameForThis sorry you're feeling anxious. I'm sure it's just something hormonal ....our reproductive systems are very complicated so it could be one of 100s of causes. fingers crossed for your clear smear result!
I had one about a year ago and was fine.
