Music magpie….good/ bad experiences?

I’ve just bought a phone after DT1 dropped mine. Halfway through set up and have a black screen of doom. Is this just bad luck? Anyone else had a bad experience?

I got my daughter an iPhone X
Problems with battery - kept saying non Apple battery detected
So took it to an Apple store for checking using their Genius Bar
Good job I did - the battery was one for a toy - not designed to be on permanently - it could have caught fire
I wouldn't touch music magpie with somebody else's

I’ve sold to them a few times, but never bought anything.

My current phone (iPhone 11 Pro) is from them, the only minor negative I've experienced is battery health (82%) but I went in fully aware they only guarantee 80%, just unlucky to get one at the lower end of the scale. Condition though, I was really impressed, went for 'very good' and it has one tiny chip on a corner that I doubt anyone would spot unless they were specifically looking for damage like I was when it first arrived. Next time I'd probably go down to 'good' quality and save some more!

I bought DS an iPhone from them through Amazon Marketplace and it was fine, I buy a lot of DVDs and the odd CD from them

I’ve bought three phones off them and they’ve all been fine. Worked perfectly.

I've sold three lots of stuff to them and it was a very easy, straightforward process every time.

I've bought a few DVDs from them and they've been fine.

In 2019 I ordered a 2017 MacBook Pro from Music Magpie for a fraction of what a brand new one would cost. They have a system to rate the condition of the item: good, very good and pristine. I went for "very good" to save a bit of money but when it arrived, you'd never have known it had even been out of its box. It also came with an official Apple charger even though the listing said it didn't include a charger, so that was a bonus.

I use it day in, day out and I have never had an issue with it (touch wood!)

I've bought several iPhones from Music Magpie now. All have been better than their grading implied and we've had no problems at all.

Maybe I am being completely thick and trying to get the screen on in the wrong way…..it was fine to start with.

@Cinders15 sorry to hear you had that experience, v lucky you realised!

I've bought loads from them and recommended them to friends and family. Never had a bad experience yet.

Reallycomplicatedpants · 12/11/2022 21:29

Always had a good experience!

ShadowNight · 13/11/2022 17:55

I bought an iPhone in very good condition. It had markings on the back from the previous users phone holder, a mark on the screen and when I came to sell it, it had no moisture indicator so was deemed unsellable.

I’ve done a hard reset and it works! So maybe it was me after all!

Not bought any technology from them but have bought books etc from them before with no issues and quite recently cleared out a lot of mixed media (unwanted books, cd's, dvd's) and had no issue either.
