Did your toddler get side effects from flu nasal spray and how long did they last?

DS had it on Thursday, was a bit snuffly that night but otherwise fine. Friday was a different story and he was lethargic, snotty and the congestion seems to have triggered his asthmatic cough. Last night was horrendous, he had a mild fever but where he normally copes well with them he was very upset and seemed to be feeling very poorly and unable to sleep.
They said fever isn't particularly usual as a side effect but he gets a fever as soon as he so much as looks at a germ so I was expecting it. They also said side effects should happen within and end within 48 hours of the vaccination but he doesn't seem to be bouncing back yet.

Of course, he could have had something else coming and it's a coincidence, but we are going away this coming week (supposed to be!) and I don't want to make him travel if he's feeling this rough, so I was just wondering what other people's experiences have been in the hope it's the flu jab and it will be short lived.

nobody can diagnose I know, just looking for a bit of light at the end of a very tired tunnel!

My 2 year old had no side effects but my 4 year old has had diarrhoea (sorry) for 3 days now, along with mild fever. Could be a gastro bug of course but timing seems odd. He’s pretty much back to normal today. Good luck, hope you get away!
Ps. Your username is It’s Always Sunny, right?! 😂

@BlueAbacus haha yes! Love Dennis despite his erm dark side haha

sorry to hear your little one has been poorly too, I’m having that worry where I’m wondering if I’m assuming it’s the vaccination and isn’t but like you I think the timing is too suspect!

Well we are still going strong with a fever today. Sigh. Hopefully today will be the last day of it
